Hey guys, need a little bit of help here. Bought my wooting 80he for Christmas and I have now had it for about 3 days. Was watching YouTube last night when my pc started making the disconnect and reconnect sounds. Check it was my keyboard constantly getting disconnected and reconnecting, i opened up the wootility app to see what was wrong and i saw that on the actuation point it was activating keys without me even clicking any. Then all of a sudden the keyboard just turned off and now it wont turn on. Any ideas? i have tried the keyboard recovery and that doesnt even work. I thought it could've been the cable but i tried out a different one and still nothing. Plugged my 60he in and it worked instantly on both cables. Help needed please. All the way in South Africa so I am not sure how returns/replacments will work :(
#Wooting 80he no longer turns on after 2-3 days of use.

The JST cable inside the keyboard might be loose and causing this. Check if both ends of the cable are fully plugged into the connectors.
- Unscrew all the screws on the bottom of the case (you'll need PH1 screwdriver)
- Remove the top case
- Lift the module
- Push both ends of the JST cable into the PCB/USB daughterboard connectors
- Reassemble the keyboard
will me dissassembling it not mess with warranty?
no
the only thing that voids warranty (and also only for the affected part) is breaking it, permanently modifying it, soldering to it and similar things where its not as delivered
oh okay, thank you :D
and if youre unsure how to take it apart we have videos on our youtube about assembling it. ofc assembly is just like disassembly but reverse order
so i have disassembled it, how would i know if it is properly plugged into the usb connector?
Push it in on both ends, ideally should be like this
Just tested now, it is working
Thank you a bunch
Will this be a normal problem that occurs or?
This should no longer occur, if the cable is fully seated. It may have loosened during shipping and that's why you had this issue.
