I recently got my 60HE v2, and after some days of tinkering with the layout and layers (well, just 1 extra layer) and advanced keys, I've gotten it to a point where I'm quite happy with it. The split spacebar in particular is something I have wanted in keyboards for quite a while, so I hope to see that option continue to be offered in the future.
That being said, no amount of tweaking can completely erase my wish for the keyboard to still have the Function row. Small stuff that I do often, like pressing F2 to rename a file, are now multi-step processes, which is a bit annoying. I also had to find a new home for the Escape key, since I didn't want to sacrifice the tilde key that I use for keybinds in games.
I realize that the 80HE form factor exists, but for me personally, I think a 60% with a Function row (whatever you would call it) would be superior to both that and the 60HE form factor. I don't really need or care for the arrow keys or nav cluster on the right (ex. I use a layer for left-handed arrow keys), and I do appreciate the extra compactness that comes from getting rid of 2-3 columns worth of keys.
By comparison, I do use Function keys fairly often, and an extra row of keys on top doesn't affect the keyboard's effective footprint on a desk as much, and is less likely to interfere with big mousepads and stuff.
Not sure if this is an unpopular opinion, but it's something I'd personally want. On that note, I'd also want a Wooting numpad (with a lefty option!)
