I've been using my new Wooting Two HE for a few days and all has been well. But today after turning on my PC all of the lights are out and no keypresses are registered. The keyboard worked for about 2 minutes after boot before just cutting out. I've tried different cables, a different PC, but it just doesn't power on. Have tried restore mode but wootility doesn't detect it.

hi Vanta

The same happened to me and it was the usb port. I had both USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 and the keyboard didnt function properly via 2.0, but works flawlessly via 3.0.

Try changing the usb port

Thanks both, I've tried USB 3.0 but it makes no difference. Also opened a support ticket which suggested checking the connector from the USB-C port and the PCB, I re-connected it but it's made no difference. I guess I just got unlucky with a bad PCB

quick test/check

  • Open device manager
  • Select "View > Device by container"
  • if you unplug the keyboard
  • Hold down the Top right and keys (Mode+Numpad Enter)
  • Reconnect the keyboard
  • after 3 seconds let go of the keys
  • Check if the keyboard is detected in device manager as "wooting restore" or if device manager updates?
#

wish to check if The keyboard is detected in wooting restore longer

No luck unfortunately, about a second after plugging it in device manager refreshes but nothing new appears, after 3 seconds and letting go off the mode and numpad enter keys nothing happens, neither on the keyboard or on device manager

Thanks, it looks like the keyboard can communicate for a brief moment, then stops communicating. The test for Wooting Restore was to see if this was an issue when the firmware loads.

we can rule out the USB port.
last check if you try the keyboard on anouther device any change?

I have another PC I can try it on, I did plug it in earlier but it wasn't powering there either. I'll try the above steps on there though and see if there's any difference

Hmmm not a good look i think the keyboard is the issue in this case if it acts the same on other device (even in normal mode)
