i’ve been the proud owner of the 80HE for a while now, and first off, i’m happy to have it. it’s a solid board. but whenever i think about modding it beyond switches, stabilizers, lubing, and keycaps, i can’t help but wish i could swap the case itself. (not saying the stock case isn’t moddable or swappable)

sure, there are cases like Holy80, GT-80, and Bone80, but honestly, they just don’t do the keyboard justice. i get it. the 80HE is bigger and harder to design a minimalistic case for, but i know i’m not the only one who feels the stock 80HE case, or even the aftermarket options, official or not, fall short.

look at the 60HE scene. Optimum case, Tofu60 Redux, 60HEv2 aluminum case, even Alumaze60. they are minimal, clean, and eye-catching. they make me want to spend way more money than i probably should. meanwhile, being an 80HE user feels a bit left out, and that just hurts my soul.

don’t get me wrong. i love using my 80HE and wooting as a whole. it’s a great company. but the customization options for the 80HE case are too limited. i’d love to see some minimalistic, premium-looking options that truly elevate the board’s potential.

TL;DR: i love my 80HE, but the stock and aftermarket cases just don’t do it justice. the 60HE scene has clean, minimal cases that look amazing, but 80HE options feel limited. i’d love to see minimalistic, premium-looking cases that truly elevate the board’s potential. i would love to hear other people's thought's on this.

IMO the gt80 is a great option for an after market case, you can order it without the badge to make it a little more minimal. As for why there are more cases for the 60he it is simply the fact that 60% form factor has a (semi) agreed upon standard which does not exist for larger sizes.
