Heres a video showing the problem
Looks like some tolerance issues maybe. Please sent in a support ticket on the website and include this video as well so they can look into it and take care of it for you
Bit on the loose side for sure - On the other hand. It's not designed for playing with the keyboard upside down. 🙂
It should slowly slide out if turned upside down in most cases.
Thats true. But i was confused that the usb c port didnt align correctly with the case. So i noticed that the friction pad had some tolerance issue.
Even if you push down the module fully across all edges?
It should rest on the contact points, and the USB line up.
Yea when i try to push it down on all edges it comes back up. And there ist always some space betwenn usb port and case
What happens if you push it in so where the port lines up, hold it while plugging the USB cable in and letting go.
Does it still go up and down if you start typing? Or does it sit still?
Unfortunate. Not sure what else we can suggest except customer support via the website then.
Hey, so I can't help you with that but I can assure you that this problem is actually "normal". I have several friends that bought the pre-assembled aluminium version too and they all have the same Issue.
I talked to the support, and they told me to replace it. But if its normal, then it would be useless to replace the keyboard and keep the old one
Yeah something is not right with the tolerances. They have to fix their production first before it makes sense to replace anything
They are not all like that I assure you. Probably some units something went wrong there, tell you friends to contact support please if they have units that loose
If so many units went wrong then I guess it's more likely that a whole batch is bad
I severely doubt that it’s the entire batch because then red alarms would be going off
And it would be quite a lot more reports of it happening than just a few like this
This is the first post about this issue here, let's not say "so many units", you don't know that.
maybe some people don't realize that it's not supposed to be like that. My friends also thought that's normal
Alright let's refocus a little. If you're having an issue like this, please reach out to customer support.
The module shouldn't wiggle around when pushed inside of the 60HEv2 case or Optimume case, as these are both designed with the friction fit in mind.
Hopefully it's just a case of bad friction fit that can be replaced, and not a case that's slightly warped somehow.
Pick the category and issue you need help with, and we'll guide you through the process.
