Yes, it will work, but it's recommended to ground the module by screwing in a single screw on the top right for example.
wait how would that work tho?
i'm new to modding
i saw that if i use the foam that comes with the 60HE+ on the Holy60 it can warp the pcb, that's why i'm asking as well about the single screw
Holy60 comes with a thin piece of poron foam. You place it in the case, then drop the V2 module in. After that, install one screw on the top right corner to ground the module.
so it will not warp even with one screw holding it, besides de friction fit?
i'm scared of that 😅
oh also if i go for the Tofu Redux do i need to put a screw as well?
No, you won't warp anything. Just install one screw loosely, no need to tighten it.
You'll also need to do this with the Tofu60, yes.
Yeah, basically all you need to do is:
- Install the standoff on the top right corner, as shown in the image
- Place the foam inside the case
- Put the V2 module in
- Screw in the top right screw. Remember it doesn’t need to be tight
oh one last thing, with the tofu redux i could use the foam or the silicon slab that comes with the wooting right? Also the friction fit is doable bc of the silicone sandwiched in between the pcb and the plate right?
Did you order v2 module? If so, case dampening (EPDM foam and silicone block) doesn't come with it. They're only included with the prebuilt or the v2 aluminum case.
no i'm deciding if i should get the module or the prebuilt
that's why i wanted to know
as well
You can use Wooting's foam and silicone block inside the Tofu60 Redux. However, they won't fit in the Holy60 as far as I know, in that case you'll need to use the thin poron foam that comes with it.
oh alright, and the friction fit is bc of the silicone sandwiched? or something else?
Yeah, v2 module has silicone friction fit pad pre-installed between the PCB and plate. It holds the module securely in place using friction.
nice
that way i can choose
thank you!
oh on the tofu redux, where do i screw loosely?
thank you, why those two tho? i would understand if was for the usb port, but it isn't
Not two, just one. I showed where you should install the screw.
The reason for putting it in the top right corner is that you rarely use the right side of the board compared to the left, so using the screw there won't really affect the typing experience. You'll still benefit from the friction fit pad even with the screw installed.
oh i meant those two in like the tofu and holy60
oh, thanks for the explanation, could i put O rings on the screw? like so the screw doesn't make direct contact to the pcb and the case?
or would be too much?
I'd recommend using the screw only, without o ring.
alright, thank you! <3
sorry for annoy you once more, but if i get the optimum case do i have to use the foam it comes with or can i chose to use either the silicone or the foam that comes with the wooting 60HE?
60HE v2 EPDM foam and silicone block make the module sit higher in the Optimum case, which may cause the USB port to not align perfectly, so best to use the Optimum case foam.
alright thank you
i decided to get the 60HE v2 module, once again really appreciate the help, also am i going to get the new role after getting the keyboard?
Yes, claim it in the Wooting hub
