When did you buy the keyboard? Wooting used stabilizer pads in the first and second batches, and they need to be removed because they soak in lube and become sticky.

Uhh I believe this was bought like a month ago and I just received it as a gift
maybe even less than a month ago
I took off the keycaps for all the keys that have stabilizers and the LSHIFT seems to have a chunk of lube on both sides of the stabilizer
not sure if the photo shows it well
Ah, then disassemble the keyboard, remove left shift stabilizer and wipe off some lube with a q-tip or something, should help.
But if it is the stabilizer pads, would removing them make the the keypress sound different?
The sound will change but not that much. If the keyboard was purchased recently, it won't have stabilizer pads. Probably just overlubed stabilizer and it causes the stickiness.
ah ok ty
so i just found out that the keyboard was ordered 11/11/2025
will this have the padding?
No, it won't have stabilizer pads. Wooting stopped using them last year.
Yes, most likely just overlubed stab
Sorry got another question. When I take the stabilizers out do I have to disassemble the stabilizer completely?
