i need help
Is it a Physical issue?
i think but am not sure
Well then take your keycap puller pull of the spacebar and look under it?
Look for debris blocking the spacebar.
already done it but nothing
Well how did you discover the issue?
i ask some friends
and when i press harder it manage to go to 4mm
but i have to press very hard
Are you using spacebar foam by any chance?
no
Yeah but again the key has to be getting blocked by something.
Have you tried replugging the keyboard?
Custom keycaps?
original ones
Replug and don't touch any key for 5 seconds
HOW
it's working
i don't even need to press hard
Dude that should not have worked?
Whats the science behind that?
Probably calibration was messed up and keyboard recalibrates after the replug.
ohhhh that's crazy
Wait thats a wooting feature? “Calibration”?
i cleaned my whole keyboard at least
wait and now it's back to 3.97 not 3.8
and i repluged it and it is back to 4
and after some time it comes back to 3.9
what is wrong with that spacebar
oh it's back to normal
no it's not..
it's fixed only the first maybe 10 secondes after i repluged it
I have more information
when i unplug and replug it is fixed but as soon as i click the right side of my space bar, the left side is back lagged
Which means the right side presses the key down slightly further than the left
The spacebar tilts slightly left or right when pressed on the far ends. This can happen for three reasons:
-
The stabilizer or stabilizer wire is damaged or slightly out of place, which is unlikely in this case
-
The stabilizer stem has a loose fit with the spacebar
sometimes you can test this by removing the alt/spacebar and placing the alt keycap on the stabilizer and seeing if it easily comes off when lifted
- The spacebar has a loose fit on the stabilizer stem
(2/3) are the most common
Why This becomes noticeable only after calibration.
The end-press value is dynamic, so the lowest detected value becomes the lowest value.
so When you press the key in the center, the switch reaches that lowest depth easily. while pressing from the left or right, the tilt keeps the switch from going as deep, so it can’t reach the same lowest value.
Because of this, it might not be noticeable on the first side press until after you’ve pressed the spacebar in the center.
best to check method "2" first to see if this is a keycap or spacebar issue first (1) Is really rare \
alright
for reference most of the time i see this is from cracked or loose fitting spacebars as the stems can slightly bend/break from the amount of leverage they experience
when i remove the alt key of the stabilizer, it's litteraly similar to when i remove a keycap
so firm grip (doesn't fall off with no force)
??
no it doesnt fall
you mean the alt key?
it is gripped like a key but it moves loosely when on the stabilizer
if you lift the keycap up slightly dose it fall off like it has no grip
sure
where can i show you?
can you send a ticket here https://wooting.io/support?category=8&issue=37
and in the "how is the part broken or Defective, or how did the cat break it?* copy/paste the text below
My spacebar keycap stems are loose, causing the keycap to tilt

Pick the category and issue you need help with, and we'll guide you through the process.
person Note: The Alt keycaps are firmly attached to the stabilizers
High chance the spacebar stems have a loose fit
