Hi, it's been 8 days since I provided them with all the details they asked for, and I still haven't received a response
Wooting has a lot of tickets right now because of the 60HE v2 launch, so support might be a bit slow. Also they don't work on weekends, so you'll probably get a response sometime next week.
Please ensure a response isn't in your spam filter. And feel free to send a followup reply to the last email you received just in case.
OkI'll wait until next week. If I don't hear from you, I'll write again and follow up with another email
It's been over a week and I still haven't received anything. I'm sending him another email to follow up on this issue I'm having with my Wooting 80HE. In the meantime, can you help me in any way?
What's the order number?
Order number: #EU368414H
Andres replied to you on the 13th, and is waiting for a response. That's why there's been no movement 🙂
I'll resend it now, so keep an eye on your spam mail today every so often just in case.
But I replied on November 13
Not according to our systems.
Andres (and I just now) sent a followup with some potential solutions. Nothing after that.

It should have arrived by now
I can confirm. Andres or someone else from the tech team should get back to you asap 🙂
Ok I wait, thank you so much for your help
@pulsar gale I need to replace this part of the PCB. Where can I find a guide replacement for the Wooting 80he zinc alloy PCB? Do I need to remove all the switches and keys on top, or can I keep them?
i recommend to take apart the 80HE module to sepeate the switch plate https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AnyG_a1kosg
this can avoid removing each switch and instead carry over them all over at once
Sometimes, you may need to fully disassemble your keyboard, whether it's to swap out stabilizers or replace components due to a defect. In this video, we'll guide you through the process.

So do I have to remove all the switches and keycaps first?
you can leave these attached (you may need to remove a few keycaps to unclip the case)
(not a perfect example)
but here is a image of a 60HE you can notice that once the switch plate is removed this still has the switch's attached
you only need to swap the black PCB component
Sorry, but I just need to change the black module and take the one in the photo. Since the video tutorial doesn't show how to disassemble it, is it enough to unscrew those two screws?
i think this is for a Dead led so you wont need to unscrew the daughterboard (only need to do this if you need to replace it)
(note)
make sure the cable is inserted into the cable cannel on the case to avoid the LED being damaged again (if resting ontop it will place pressure on the led)
The problem is this in the photo, but since I have a Zinc Alloy and they sent it to me attached to a PBC, I have to detach it and put it in the Zinc one, right?
Up to you they both use the same JST cable/Daugherboard so unless you have trouble with the USB-C port this can remain
But then I only have to take that piece with the wires, I don't have to replace the rest, right?
you will only need to swap the PCB the rest can remain if they are not a problem
Do you mean the PCB under the case? I just need to change the wires for the LEDs
That wire is to powering the keyboard and to send/receive data
it wont affact the LED component on the PCB is damaged so to fix the problem you will need to replace the PCB
the note regarding the cable is to make sure the replacement PCB is not damaged again due to the cable/cable channel
They told me that this needs to be replaced
let me check the ticket
The order image looks like it doesn't match up to item we send (shopify image/sku mix up)
but from the ticket you will only need to swap the module
if you have trouble placing the cable into the channel you can try the new JST cable and see if that helps
This is the form I already have
This instead is what they sent me
Why doesn't the new one have the same layer as mine?
that looks correct.
you can remove the PET sticker (on the back on the PCB) and put this on the New PCB
make sure you unscrew the module as the replacement also doesn't have the silicone gasket that rest between the switch plate/pcb
Why doesn't it have the PET sticker? Sorry, but due to a production issue, should I switch to another form with fewer items?
The replacement PCB we only send what is needed to avoid waste. For instance, as you only need the PCB, this does not require switches, silicone gasket, or PET sticker if you can take these from the old PCB.
the ABS case that it comes with can be considered packaging to keep the PCB safe in transit
I understood that, but the problem, as also mentioned by Wooting support, was the LED wires, not the module. By replacing the module, the PET sticker is also no longer there
The PET sticker does not peel off either. So what is the PET sticker essentially used for?
you can peel the PET sticker and place the on the new module
How do you do it? I don't want to cause any damage
it should be fairly easy to peel off the adhesive is pretty weak
I wanted to tell you that the problem Wooting Support was talking about was only related to the poorly manufactured wire, not the module.
The wire is fine the cable channel + wire can cause this
made a quick image.
so when the wire is resting on top of the channel it can reach the LED but inserted inside the channel
Yes, the problem with mine was that it didn't curve properly, so it didn't fit into the recess and was all crooked. It wasn't a problem with the module
In fact, the non-functioning LED was right above this cable
Yes.
as long as either the cable is properly seated in the channel it's fine
you may need to shape the cable by pinching it or using the other cable if this is still ahard
So I just plug the new cables into my original keyboard and test to see if it works properly
Yes the only concern is making sure that the cable is route in that channel if that is good inserted all is fine
Ok I'll proceed and let you know thank you
However, I only replaced the cable with the LED wires without replacing the black module, and the button remained blue. Would you advise me to try replacing the black module as well? And what exactly is the sticker on it for?
-
Module
Yes this will need to be swapped as the "LED/RGB" on the module is damaged and what requires to be replaced -
Sticker
This is to help with sound and feel and can be considered preferences (wont affect the performances)
Is it sufficient to remove the sticker and apply it to the other form as accurately as possible? Or is there a more practical and secure method?
you can peel it off and apply it to the replacement PCB.
you need to put it on the foam
Hi, I changed the black module and now the button works correctly. Thank you so much for your assistance
