Are you using a chrome-based browser?
yes i was using ungoogled chromium
and i tried it with google chrome and brave as well
Which Linux distribution?
I also had problems getting it to work under EndeavourOS in Chromium. But there's a Wootility in the AUR and that makes it work.
im on linux mint
I just checked. On EndeavourOS, 70-wooting.rules is not located under /etc/udev/rules.d/ but under /usr/lib/udev/rules.d/
Perhaps it's the same with Mint? Unfortunately, I'm not familiar with Mint.
ok i just found the folder and it has alot more files in it and im now trying to save the file there as well
so i updated the files and moved the wooting.rules file to the filepath you specified and it still is having issues which is weird
Did you execute "sudo udevadm control --reload-rules && sudo udevadm trigger"?
Yup
Sorry, then I'm afraid I don't know what else to suggest.
did you call it just wooting.rules?
it needs the XYZ- infront where XYZ is any number like 70 for example
The purpose of this article of to help you setup access to your Wooting keyboard on a Linux OS. Our software communicates with the keyboards we make directly. T
so you should have a file with all the rules in it for all out keyboards and it should be called for example 70-wooting.rules although you can replace the word wooting with anything you want in the filename
Yeah it was called 70-wooting.rules
so just to recap:
- youre on linux mint (idk which version)
- the file is located at
/etc/udev/rules.d/70-wooting.rules - you reloaded the udev rules OR restarted the system
- content of the file is exactly as described in the udev rules guide from us
And despite that it still doesnt work correct?
yes
here is a screenshot of the rules as described inside of the guide
ok i figured it out and im a idiot ;-; i thought in the guide you had to replace the information like 31e3 was to be replaced with the corresponding for the actual keyboard
yeah i just tried that and its working now thank you for trying to help me lol
