~~Pretty excited to find out BF6 had rebindable directinput support, if you dig deep enough. With all the vehicles the Wooting would be a great fit with the game. But I've not been able to make it work.

What I've tried:

  • DirectInput mode. Not picked up.
  • Xbox gamepad mode. Isn't picked up in the controller sections either.
  • Redirecting the Wooting analog to a virtual vjoy joystick or vigem xbox controller.
  • Looking through the BF6 config file.
  • Unplugged/disabled all other controllers/joysticks in my system.
  • Other devices to test:
    • A Thrustmaster 16000m dinput flightstick. Picked up fine.
    • A Logitech G13 dinput joystick. Not picked up.
I can only guess the game has a list of allowed device IDs.

If anyone has any ideas or have been able to make it work. Ping the hell out of me.~~

When playing through Steam, be sure to disable Steam input for BF6. Now you can bind the Wooting under controller bindings.

would be good to show wooting config relevant to this

#

and also if you tried unplugging other joysticks/joypads

I'll add that. I did unplug all other joysticks and disabled the virtual ones in device manager.

sometimes the usb host doesnt have resources to connect the additional gamepad the wooting announces until other usb devices are unplugged (ofc those wont work after plugging in then since then the resources arent enough for those)

What wooting config info did you mean? I've not really made a profile for the game yet since I want to see BF6 pick up on the axis first. So it's just a simple WASD to XY axis classic controller layout.

just a screenshot of the controller settings for the profile

#

also did you check that the controller tester picks it up fine

#

in wootility

Yes it works fine in the tester. I don't think it's a Wooting issue at all. It's BF6 being picky about devices. But hoping there might be a way to work around it that I'm unaware of.

hm it shouldnt really be picky about devices (at least in xbox mode the game wouldnt know its not a real xbox controller)

#

do you play it through steam? if so steam input might help/be in the way

oh damn good point didnt check that

Yeah Steam input was the bastard. Set it to be disabled for BF6 and now classic controller is being picked up in the regular controller selections (not the joystick section).
