Keyboard shortcuts are great, but adding a dedicated, fully customizable dial to the corner of a keyboard would make certain things so much easier. It’d probably be used mainly by more productive uses like scrolling through a video timeline, zooming in/out of a picture, etc. I like that multimedia controls are already on the keyboard through shortcuts, but having a physical dedicated means of control like a dial would make it sooooo much easier. It’s a simple addition that I think wouldn’t hurt at all.

wait..... the big one takes away all of those keys above the arrow keys?.... I guess the future 80HE isn't for me... Full keyboard might be the only option atm.... Many brands have those 80% keyboard with all 6 keys above the arrow tho.... Those will be the perfect solution by pairing it with a separate num pad...

yea, I want those 6 keys. I hope future 80HE has 6 keys above the arrow key. Then I won't need to buy a full keyboard, just another numpad. So I can put it on left side or right side, however I want. Which will be the dream setup.

wouldnt be an 80he then. its specifically designed so the 4u knob doesnt have any physical interference. thats why its 4 key home cluster (although i also personally doubt most people even use all 6 enough to not be able to move some to FN layer)

Moving to the FN layer just isn’t the same as pressing a key directly. For example, when I play MapleStory, I actually use all 6 keys above the arrows for buffs, so switching layers mid-boss fight slows me down.
If I only played competitive shooters, I’d definitely go for the 60HE. But since I also play MapleStory and do some coding, I prefer a keyboard that keeps all 6 keys above the arrows — like a full keyboard or an 80% layout that includes them.

At the end of the day, customers like me usually buy keyboards that fit our habits and needs — not the other way around. I get that some people are fine using the FN layer, but for my workflow, it just slows things down. That’s why I naturally lean toward layouts that already have all six keys above the arrows.

Totally understand, and I get why the 80HE is loved — it’s a great design for most people. I just wanted to share a different perspective since not everyone plays the same type of games or uses their board the same way. Appreciate the reply — I’ll definitely keep an eye out for future announcements!

For the 1u knob, does it use the key switch on my board or does it come with its own switch that i just hotswap with?
