I just got my Wooting 80HE. After updating the firmware via Wootility, it stopped working entirely. It no longer powers on or registers on any device, and trying to plug it in causes power issues.

It initially worked fine. After opening Wootility to perform a firmware update, the keyboard started behaving strangely:

At first, plugging it in would disable other USB devices, but some ports still worked intermittently.

I tried different ports, and the keyboard worked temporarily.

Now, it no longer powers on or registers on any device (PC, Mac, or phone), and when plugged in, devices report power issues.

There are no lights or signs of activity from the keyboard at all.

It seems the firmware update failed and left the board bricked. I haven’t done anything unusual beyond following the official update procedure.

Can't really do that since my PC doesn't register the keyboard at all, it doesn't even make the sound when i plug it in

Can you check the JST cable inside the keyboard to rule out it being the cause of the problem?

  1. Unscrew all the screws on the bottom of the case (you'll need PH1 screwdriver)
  2. Remove the top case
  3. Lift the module
  4. Push both ends of the JST cable into the PCB/USB daughterboard connectors
  5. Reassemble the keyboard and check if it’s recognized by the PC
