#Is it possible to build a lighter and more fancy version of the wooting 80HE?

As the title suggests, I would like to see a specific product from wooting with hall effect full analog support keyboard that is TKL/80 layout that is made from a mix of aluminum + plastic(wherever the engineering team from wooting sees fit), with volume knobs or one display panel(could be OLED or mini-LED[pretty sure this doesn't exist as of right now]) with 1 USB passthrough. My specifications are quite specific, but basically this is similar to razer's huntsman v2 analog but is TKL version and of course using hall effect analog switches over razer's proprietary optical analog switches. This is from my personal experience as a gaming laptop + external keyboard user, especially since I am studying in a relatively far place from my house and I need to travel back and forth on a weekly basis and I bring along my current external mechanical keyboard along as I like using it for daily typing as well. The wooting 80HE's zinc alloy chassis is great for people who need a static keyboard for their desktops(which I fully understand is the vast majority of wooting's customerbase), but it is far too heavy for someone who needs portability for their gaming keyboards.

Also, on a side note, is it physically possible to engineer analog hall effect switches with a bump in it to simulate the feel of traditional clicky mechanical switches? Or is it too much work? This is venturing into totally unknown and borderline weird status, but I really like the feel of clicky switches but it seems to be impossible to integrate clicky feeling with hall effect analog switches(which I understand because HE analog switches are meant for precision e-sports gaming use and introducing a bump for clicky feel is going to disrupt the keyboard feedback when playing games). So this is a highly theoretical and weird question.

I'am not reading this.

  1. Razer doesent use halleffect. They use optical.
  2. Knobs are comming in 2026 q1.
  3. There is switch with bump
  4. You can mod led mini screen into case but it cantbe connected to pcb

If you want a lighter 80he, get one with plastic case. Someone made a mod for it recently to integrate a screen as well

Thanks for the feedback. I would love to redesign the 80HE, have Kevin give it another shot with the news things we've learned and can do now.

But, not the time yet to go full redesign yet
