Thats not the problem I have, the keyboard is working fine i just cant update it

patent imp

That wasn't clear from your original message. Are you using the app or a browser?

green radish
#

the app because I use firefox

patent imp
#

Firefox doesn't work with Wootility.

green radish
#

Yes thats why I use the app in windows

patent imp

Ah right. I misread that.

Backup your profiles and try a factory reset all the same.

green radish
#

Is there a way to do backup or is it just copying the profile codes?

green radish
#

Cannot factory reset either, ive tried the registry fix from troubleshooting page but didnt work and im doing everything correctly, it looks like the same issue when trying to update.

Try restoring on another PC

green radish
#

It worked on another pc however that still sucks, any idea why its happening on my main pc?

#

Especially when i didnt change anything and it never happened before with the updates, weird

patent imp
#

Does sound like the issue that the registry fix should have been able to fix, flushing the entries. Odd

#

(I am not on thne technical team, so I could be wrong)

green radish
#

Yeah that sucks, having to deal with second pc to update it but oh well thanks for the help

Hopefully someone with a bit more knowledge swings by and can find you a longterm fix.

If the keyboard has a corrupted or incomplete firmware it should be in "Wooting Restore" mode

In which case it could be a driver issue where the drivers needed for Wootility to detect and communicate are not assigned correctly or missing, or the keyboard is not detected

for reference this is how both are detected and what drivers are assigned

(only one should be visible (had to enable hidden for showing these at once)

Yes of course

could you take a picture of device manager with the device tree expanded for

  • Wooting restore
    or
  • wooting (model)
    ?
green radish
#

I can try

(forgot to mention)
make sure that you have "View> Device by container" selected to better show the device/groups

Not known if this is a driver issue, and always best to check what drivers are assigned

It may be a case of the wrong drivers always being assigned incorrectly (sometimes happens with software interfaces) or there is no problem with the drivers

green radish
#

I think something is really wrong with my pc because it doesn’t install drivers for any keyboard

unkempt rapids
#

picture?

green radish
#

I can’t take it keyboard doesn’t work

unkempt rapids
#
  • phone camera

or you can try to use the "on screen keyboard" and press "print screen"

i get the feeling somthing is a foot here

green radish
#

I’ll take the pic with onscreen keyboard

#

Yeah it shows just this

#

I must have auto updates disabled for new devices idk why tho

unkempt rapids
#

looks like you have maybe 3 devices with errors (pretty uncommon)

could you enable "device by container"

green radish
#

Also this is when I try to update the driver manually

#

It’s blocked by registry or something

#

Or policy

#

Also that was by container

unkempt rapids
#

leaning towards some forum of software interfaces causing the issues like "zadig" case i had in the past

but a big data point is that the keyboard is "Detected as "wooting 60HE (ARM)"

so that would explain why the firmware restore failed

#

i would like to check if you followed the process below when you attempted a restore

  • unplug the keyboard
  • Hold down the "FN+BackSpace" keys
  • plug in the keyboard
  • after 3 seconds let go of the keys

the keyboard should now be in "wooting restore" mode and detected as such

  • attempt the restore in wootility "Help>troubleshoot>Restore"

Note this may not resolve the driver issues but if the current problem is related to a bad firmware it is best to preform a restore just incase

green radish
#

I fixed it through some policy change now the keyboard works

#

Ive never had to deal with this wtf

unkempt rapids
#

Yea pretty wired case not sure why windows having a issue with driver assignment

green radish
#

I guess ill try to do the factory reset now again

unkempt rapids
#

if the keyboard works you should be fine ?

green radish
#

Yeah of course, originally I was just trying to fix why I cannot update the keyboard on my main pc

#

or factory reset

#

this is what it looks like now

unkempt rapids
#

looks all good

green radish
#

I wonder if it didnt want to update because of the weird policy
