my wooting kb just arrived today. i unplugged the old keyboard i was using, plugged in the wooting cable and the keyboard and went to wootility. the keyboard paired fine, but when trying to actually use it, nothing would happen. the leds are lit up, when i press a key on the keyboard it responds, but nothing happens on screen. within the wootility app, i can visually see the key actuation point when pressing a key down, and on top of that, when i hold fn down, the fn functions like muting, increasing vol etc work, but typing doesnt.

sounds like windows did not assign the "Keyboard HID device" driver so no keys will work while the other drivers that control media/volume , wootility connection, mouse ,gamepad, etc. are fine
can you check this by going to device manager
- then select "View"
- then "Sort by container"
- find the "Wooting 80HE" Device
- Expand the Device tree
- Take a screenshot of what is visible
Example image
my wooting works now but idk what i did and my laptop touchpad doesnt work 😭
I need to sleep soon, it's almost 5 am, so I will include the second part.
If the driver is missing, you can follow this guide Link
to remove all drivers and any left over registry files associated with the keyboard, then perform a restart for the changes to take effect.
This will cause Windows to detect the device again and reassign the drivers, and hopefully assign these correctly to resolve the issue.
(Note: A restart differs from a shutdown, as a shutdown may cache the currently loaded registry for the next boot and not resolve the issue)
Sometimes even after following this guide Issue - Wootility doesn't detect the Wooting the Wootility still can not detect the keyboard, this can be because of d
not touchpad i mean kb
ooo well that is odd (the keyboard has a mouse driver for mouse buttons but that should not interact with other deevices)
ye i manually installed a keyboard hid device driver and the wooting kb started working
but then the laptop kb stopped working
best to attempt a Restart and see if that resolve the problem
yep i did and now i have unknown devices in my device manager and when i try update it it gives me this
just to check what keyboard has issue now (laptop/wooting)
laptop
i mean now that my main kb is working i could just firm it but also dont like the idea of having messed up my laptop kb 😂
feels like windows may have the issue you can attempt a "SFC" system file check scan and see if that resolve the problem (and prefrom a restart)
otherwise may need to reinstall the laptop drivers
ye sounds good, ill have a go of that and update soon
ill let you sleep lol thanks for the help
ok again thanks for all the help, i got both working now
i checked view hidden drivers, and i uninstalled all the drivers that were grayed out with the name shown here
restarted and now both work fine
Hi! Just got a Wooting 80HE, but the RGB LED under the "C" key is dead (all others work fine).
What I've tried:
• Full reset (firmware + Wootility)
• Multiple lighting profiles
• Physical keycap inspection
Constraints:
📍 Currently in Russia (no official support)
Questions:
- Any known fix for single-LED failure?
- DIY solutions without PCB replacement?
- Creative workarounds?
Attached photo shows dead "C" vs working neighbors. Thanks for any ideas!
