#Sent Wrong Switches - Wooting - First Ever Order - Help!

Hey,

I'm hoping to get some advice regarding my first-ever order from Wooting, which has presented an unexpected challenge for my PC build.

I ordered a Wooting Two HE back in July (2024). However, there was an initial delay with shipping (Wooting confirmed an inventory issue via email, stating units would ship by mid-August). The keyboard eventually arrived. Due to other significant PC component delays (mostly my GPU), I only am just now fully unboxing and setting up the keyboard.

After testing, I found the switches are Gateron Clicky (green stems), which are very loud and not what I ordered. My order confirmation clearly states I purchased "Linear 60 (silent)."

I've already opened a case with Wooting support. Given the original shipping delay from Wooting's side and the very long time before I could complete my build, what should I expect regarding this incorrect item? Has anyone else discovered an order error much later after delivery? Did Wooting provide assistance?

My main aim is to get the correct quiet linear switches, as they are crucial for my setup. I'm hesitant about replacing all the switches myself as a first-timer, and would strongly prefer to send this keyboard back for a replacement with the correct switches pre-installed. Could Wooting help with that, or provide comprehensive assistance/parts if a full replacement isn't possible?

Any advice or insights into Wooting's policy in situations like this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

The Two HE always comes with Lekker 60 ("Linear 60") switches. You can only order additional switches.

Yeah what you are describing, @twin aspen simply isn't possible.

#

The 2HE only exists as a prebuilt keyboard, and only with Lekker60 switches. Always been that way.

Then why do I have green switches?

#

That are clicky?

You don't?

Pop off a keycap and take a closeup photo.

It says Gateron

I did put a photo

Those are indeed Lekker 60 switches.

#

There is btw no such thing as a clicky Hall Effect switch, unless you painstakingly combine two very different switches by hand last I checked. 🙂

Oh, sorry I am new to this, can you please explain. The order is: Wooting two HE - Full-size analog keyboard × 1 (which I thought it said silent). I guess I am just confused at how loud and clicky it is.

#

I bout this in July 2024

That's not a click. That's you bottoming out the key. That's going to create a thonk sound no matter what. This is just how Hall Effect switches sound for the most part. Especially when it's on a metal switch plate that the 2HE has.

oh. my old Fnatic keyboard didn't click loudly at all and it was mechnical, so I guess I am trying to understand. Can I stop it from bottoming out?

#

My old keyboard had red switches maybe cherry mx, does wooting not have something like that?

I am trying to google this. I see dampening materials, lubing the switches and stabilzers, what is the best option here? It is quite loud.
