First Keyboard Build 80he

Hello ^^ I wanna mod a keyboard the first time and I just want to know a thing or two. I just need the GT-80 Case, The 80HE Module, Switches (I have Lekker 45G) and Keycaps, right ? The last thing which most do is is put a silicone or foam at the bottom and thats what I dont really understand, what should I really get? Is this fine https://us.maxgaming.com/us/silencing-foam/case-foam-poron-3mm-full-size ? should I get 3mm or 2mm, are they better options maybe. Im from EU.

Thank you! Yeah I ordered the module with the plastic case and the gt-80. So now I get the Foam and when everything arrives I cut it that it fits the case right ? Some KBs have a silicone pad should I rather get that ?

if u havent got the order yet, u could change to the raws which are actually the same price

its what i use currently and its really nice

but the stock switches are already not too shabby and better compared to other mainstream brands

Yeah I ordered the board and add. L45 once (zinc alloy white v1, returned it but kept the L45) and the stock L65 are def too strong for me I prefer lighter ones, I think the L45 will be fine

Are u using a wristrest and was there a reason not to get the zinc alloy ?

the plastic case is a good addition for a mix and the accesories it has like the daughterboard and cables

and nah i dont need a wristrest

but ergonomics is a preferencial thing so its up to ur posture

A right the only thing I do t like about the GT-80 is the fixed angle but I heard most are comfortable with it

honestly angle doesnt matter much to me ive noticed

i switch between 0 to 10 degrees often for fun

Yeah I was not happy with the quality of the white one even the V2 came scratched and even chipped on one of the edges. They are minor but I’m very picky and for like 120€ this shouldn’t be imo

I heard the GT-80 has slightly better quality and I never build a board or customized one so I just said fuck it lets do it

wooting is quite new to making cases to be honest, a lot of it is trial and error

Yeah if there was a white Wooting plastic case I probably wouldn’t do it

The Holy80 looks good too but it’s oos or not released yet

Yeah you should because it looks really special def unique I just don’t like that they paired the white colorway with yellow

But black and silver looks good

Oh I also forgot to say that I ordered a daughter board for 6 dollars with the GT-80 because I saw a video of a tech YouTuber who said that the original one is loose but you implied that it’s fine
