Hi Wooting team and community,

I just received my Wooting 80HE (Order ID: ROW33799A), and I’m already experiencing ghosting issues on several keys. This is currently my only usable keyboard, and I rely on it every day, so this issue is very urgent for me.

I’ve already sent an email to support but haven’t received a reply yet. If this requires a return or repair, it would take a considerable amount of time, which is why I’m hoping to find a quick solution here.

Has anyone else encountered similar problems? Or could someone from the team please help me as soon as possible?

Thank you so much

Yes, I’ve already tried setting brightness to 0%, turning off Tachyon mode, and switching to 1kHz polling rate — but the “2” key is still constantly triggering on its own.

Any magnets nearby? A magnetic desk?

If I have to do all these things just to make it work properly, does that mean my motherboard might be faulty?

#

No, there are no magnets nearby and my desk isn’t magnetic either.

If it turns out I need to send it in for repair, could you please let me know what the usual process looks like?
This is currently my only keyboard, so I’d really like to understand how long it might take and what I should expect.

What the problem may be depends on what the solution is, if it's only one key affected it might be the switch/sensor for that specific one. I don't know how long warranty cases take since that's fine through the official support

think it’s a motherboard issue, because it’s not just one key—I’ve had problems with the ‘2’, ‘Tab’, and ‘B’ keys at different times. The issue seems to rotate between them.

But only one at a time?

#

I'm on my phone so I don't have the multiplexer image to reference but if they're all in the same region it could be a multiplexer issue

#

Showing what it looks like on the analog monitor could be helpful

Ok,I’ll record a video with my phone to show you.

#

I just tried replugging the keyboard again, and I noticed that it usually improves for a short while after doing that — but after some time, the ghosting issue comes back.

#

I’ve also tried adjusting the tightness of the PCB screws, but that only lasts for a little while — the issue comes back right away.

Here it's happening with only Tachyon mode on, but even without it on it can come back after a while?

When you turned Tachyon mode on I notice the green checkmark (image 1) which I believe means you also have 8k polling on. 8k polling requires more stable power which could cause issues like this, it can be switched in Settings > Keyboard settings.

have exacly the same problem and also with "2"

Disabling it did help, but isn’t Tachyon mode supposed to be for 8000Hz polling? That means this keyboard isn’t functioning properly then, right?

Would you happen to have any suggestions on how I can properly test if the keyboard is defective? I’m concerned it could be a power-related issue from my PC

unique plank
#

If it works fine with all that set to off/1k then it doesn't sound like a keyboard issue, but of course can't be 100% ruled out. If you have a USB hub with external power you could try plugging the keyboard into that instead, or other USB ports

Ok , thank you! Just out of curiosity, are you part of the Wooting team?

unique plank
#

No, just someone who has a Two HE and try to help out

valid geyser
#

I truly appreciate your help. I’m just wondering, do the Wooting staff not have a solution for this issue🫠🫠??

unique plank
#

If it's a power issue then it's not a problem with the keyboard

valid geyser
#

But I previously had a black plastic-cased Wooting 80HE, and I didn’t encounter this issue back then.

unique plank
#

Well in that case it can be the keyboard

But later, I upgraded my CPU from the R5-7500F to the 9800X3D.

Now I really don’t know anymore. I’m so confused🫠🫠

Because then the power delivery might be different if you're plugging the keyboard directly into the motherboard

valid geyser

Yes, I am plugging it directly into the motherboard.
