try pluging in the keybaord into anouther USB port further away from the current locaiton
i think this may be the result of a possible issue with that USB port and when the keyboard is connected
@civic sky it's the same USB Port my previous Keyboard used. Why would there be suddenly an issue?
The only factor that changed is, this new keyboard
Not sure what keyboard you used before, but Wooting can be detected as multiple different device types—mouse, keyboard, gamepad, etc.—so sometimes there can be issues compared to other keyboards that are just a keyboard
(image of wooting keyboard - with gamepad off)
for comparison some keyboards just have 3 total
keep in mind that this (Might) be the cause but is hard to say with out more testing
I just had a logitech before. Something about the keyboard blocks the other USB devices on windows startup
I can try plugging it into the front for testing's sake
But I dont have the luxury of much change because all my USB slots are used up
I would try other ports further away from the current location first to see if this makes a change
For instance, I have seen some tickets/cases where the keyboard was connected to a USB port used for motherboard bios flashbacks and had issues with the keyboard
While in another case, a dedicated USB keyboard port was used and had a conflict
These are rare examples of issues that happen
To vice the device container in device manager (like i have shown)
you will need to go to "View" select "Device by container" and then a list of devices will show
I am rebooting now, I tried plugging it into the USB c now instead of the USB via shipped adapter
I have a long way from desk to PC :/
? are you using a USB extender or KVM?
I am using USB extender yeah, was plugging the adapter into the extender and then the USB C into it, and it was working fine when plugging in so didnt expect any issues. And I just rebooted, and directly plugging it into my USB C of my board made this issue go away. I guess it did not like the adapter into USB extender combo?
But this means my clean cable routing isnt possible because the wooting cable is too short 😦
I bought the fancy curled one
can you provid a link to the USB extender?
want to check this out
ohh god, one moment
I have this for all my usb devices and they work fine without issues
thought this might be a case of an extender that acts like a USB hub or KVM at the end
i don't think that cable would cause any issues as it looks to be a simple cable
