With the background service it would probably be possible
I don’t think you need a background service for that.
Well the background service is already being worked on so it would probably arrive sooner than any macro support like opening a URL
notice even gateron had to have the browser open already
so its just a glorified text macro
I haven’t tried their board yet but opening programs is possible without a background service right?
yes
My old Razer board could do that iirc.
anything is possible with a background program
since you can basically fully control the pc then
what gateron tried to do is without any software to be able to open it
That isn’t possible?
no
watch their video
it doesnt even press enter
it just types out the url in whatever text input youre in
I see.
a keyboard has a browser key
but
it doesnt know when the browser loaded
depending on the browser different shortcuts navigate to the url bar
yes a background program can do this and way more
imo gaterons idea is nice but the solution is kinda ass
Can a background program communicate with Wootility web for example?
Or would you have to use Wootility (not web) for that?
hm prob quite limited
🤔
im not entirely sure how they communicate or how much they can communicate
Interesting, I hope they can communicate enough to make it work.
Why not use the app version? It would still be needed for the background service
It doesn’t matter much but it might be an inconvenience for those that are used to using the web version.
If you want to use background service features and those are only possible to change with the non-web version, why would you use web anymore?
It’s np but would be nicer if they’re both capable of the same things.
im pretty sure our current stuff all works with web adn installed wootiltiy. again just not sure about the limits
I'm not sure about limits either but I doubt chrome can communicate with a program on your computer more than app-handled URLs. I guess what I more meant is that to install the background service you probably need Wootility anyway.
The background service itself should be able to open a URL no problem
Wootility non-web supremacy I see.
