#Wooting - please lobby game studios to provide better UI settings

Hear me out. Most games support either controller or mkb. Fine - but the WAY they support provides a terrible experience for Wooting players. Without fail, every game that “supports” both input methods implement an auto-detect user interface. But this is HORRIBLE. At BEST, this causes icons to flicker non stop between “A” (for controller) and “e” (for keyboard input, for example). At WORST, this causes the active UI to completely refresh and move stuff around constantly, resulting in massive lag.

Anytime I mention in gaming communities the need for better support, it’s always met with “controllers and mkb are already supported”. Or they claim they already allow manually setting the input method between controller and keyboard. But they never appreciate the situation of an analog keyboard which requires decoupling the input method from the interface style.

I’m sure some games do this well. I know Final Fantasy Online does it perfectly - offering an option to specify which UI is preferred - independent from the input methods. But generally, studios fail in the same exact way, regardless of Indy developers to AAA studios.

Maybe you would have more influence on how this is addressed more universally as a gaming standard?
