Here is my Wooting 80HE (without a spacebar). I've lubed the geon raw switches, and done a tape mod. I am planning to finish it with polyfil mod. I also swapped the stabs for Knight V2s. Sadly, there is no spacebar.

I'm very happy with the case it looks great.

yeah I need to get a spacebar from wooting, theirs is the only keycap in the world that works with their JIS module. So anyone that bought case+JIS module without a keycap set like me will find themselves with a board they cant use

they follow one called FILCO which used difference measurements than what Wooting went for. I have searched quite a lot online and I am quite certain no other set exists that did this

It's a very slight difference but enough to make every 4.5U spacebar that is not Wootings' own, not work with their module

that just sounds like a defect

I can see 0 reason why they would speficially opt to custom-make stabilizers and change the dimensions like 1mm when it's both not smart and more expensive to do so

so lose-lose for them and loss for the consumer too

i think more likely explanation is that either your board is faulty or the keycap you have is faulty

They're going to ship out replacement spacebars for people that ordered the case with module, which takes time, but does suck for everyone involved

Yeah its very unfortunate, there is a bunch of people on twitter that ran into the problem of not being able to use their own spacebars. And they confirmed that they are not going to be attempting to fix it anytime soon so I decided to receive the module anyway as I feel the Wooting spacebar atleast matches the colors of my set pretty well. But there is not much endgame for me in the board because I do not think I can ever swap the keyset into something custom and find a matching spacebar to go with it. That is pretty hard in general with 4.5U

oh wow, that sucks... for me that's a core function of keyboards so I think I'd be likely to just return and refund it if I couldn't use it with any other caps than the one set...

here is someone I asked for a picture with the spacebar (the wooting one) on the board, I was not able to tell the difference and it made me decide to go with it

Yeah basically in this case it works well enough, sadly there is an issue with the caps to the right of the spacebar too, I was not able to configure that in a way I wanted it to without there being a pretty big gap between 2 keys, I knew about the spacebar but that one was an unfortunate surprise sadly

So I had to roll with the exact same layout as the person in the picture did, to hide that 😛

Actually I may be wrong on that last part, and its just the case of 80HE size, so forget that one

But I did appreciate Calder being honest about what happened here and their attempt to resolve it so that ultimately led me to go through with it and I am sure I will be happy with the board, it feels great in use. I just hope to get the spacebar soon. They said it is in the warehouse now, and it will take 1-2 more weeks for them to get inspected

that sounds good but selling the module on the website with no mention that it will not support other keysets is just not right imo

Thing is that, if this makes sense, if you mathmetically take the distances on those spacebars like they are with ANSI/ISO, you will end up with what Wooting did in their module. But in reality what JP goes for is the FILCO standard which uses different distances, and I guess that Wooting did not do enough market research on this one and the result is that they have the only working spacebar for this module. There was someone a Wooting mod in this Discord claiming there are other keycaps that exist and work on this module, but I have not seen any proof of it and I actually highly doubt it to be the case. Anyone I found that ran into an issue such as mine had to buy the entire keycap set from Wooting and had it shipped to JP

And yes I completely agree with you I do think it should be mentioned that the current resolution is a replacement spacebar. And I sort of hope we get a discount if they ever fix this module. Like how 60HE owners had a 60HE+ coupon or something. Its kind of sad knowing I wont be able to use this module freely like that. The next shipment is for March and I did ask if they have plans to fix this (because they want to) but they said that is currently not planned, and the resolution for now is to include a replacement spacebar in the package. If it was actually a planned fix to the module then I would have waited for it, but since it is not even on the map yet I did not want to wait for something that may never happen.
