I ordered White Zinc alloy keyboard 7.9.2024 i ordered “this late” because there was a trouble with a chip malfunctioning the keyboard. So the whole production was delayed by almost 2 months. Ever since i ordered, i was supposed to get the keyboard in october, but it was postponned till the end of october, then start of november, then again till end of november, now its postponned to december, the date spreads from the start till almost the end of december. Feels like going through with the order was a big mistake. Paying almost 500€ for the whole package i dont feel like this whole process is worth it. All i heard was that Wooting is THE company to go to for high quality keyboard enjoyment and experience. Buying Wooting 80HE doesnt feel like that at all. The last communication given specifically to me was back when they gave me the choice to go through or ask for refund, ever since that they postponned the order twice. Like what even is this. Is Wooting really this incompetent? One or two delays i could understand, but this is like a 5th or 6th one. Pathetic experience. If this is supposed to be the competition to Keychron or anyone else at this point, then i think someone should wake up.

Not defending Wooting however, they have been as transparent as possible with us regarding what is going on. Unfortunately, to properly fix the issues regarding their white zinc case, it has to go through several tests/revisions/shipment/distribution and that takes a lot of time. Don't worry though I think the wait is almost over hang in there

personally, i would just ask for a refund and buy a new one, the reason is simple.
its true that you have to wait for the white zinc alloy keyboard for so long, but it was kinda your choice, you could ask for a refund and you would order a different one, and change the case down the road (since wooting is gonna release the layout to case manufacturers, mb if i spelled it wrong)

but imo they should add a note that when going through instead of asking for a refund theres cases like yours that are almost bound to happen. i am ofc not defending wooting but what Deegs said before:

I wish there were more options to see on your order when you decide to go through.
im pretty sure the delays are worth the time.

I hear you here, this is why we communicated multiple times on the White zinc and offered options for alternative routes that could give you an 80HE sooner. Apparently you decided to stick with the v2 version of the case, this was also indicated to take longer (2-3 month). I wouldn't count this into the total delay.

When it comes to the time frame shown on the hub, we've had quite some trouble changing things in the backend to complete reflect all the options and transfers to different PO for v2 etc. Scenarios we didn't imagine and built workflows for.

As for the current state of the v2 white zinc. We completed the R&D, chosen the final color, and are now getting production back up and going. Next ready date is mid December, but I can't guarantee that date for the zinc white v2 until I receive the final green light, as I don't want to be blindsided that our manufacturing partner "suddenly" needs more time to run these.

An update video is owed with the above progress, working on it.

I have not decided to stick with the v2 version, i went through the original White Zinc that's not polished out properly, by polished out properly i mean it can get scratched/damaged easily, has tendency to show scratch marks. The reason i went through with it, is that i am excited for the 80HE ever since it was announced. I watched every tiny bit piece of information, feature showcase and what not that you provided through social media and ofc. youtube.

So i wanted to get my hands on it as soon as possible and i went through with the one that was supposedly already produced(according to Wooting HUB at that moment), that was 3 delays ago.

I am well aware about v2 which i am side checking from time to time, to see what's up with that, but it has very little to do with the issue i spoke about above.

As for alternative routes, i had no other option than default options on the HUB, i would definitely choose the fastest option of there was such possibility.

Hello @sterile flume - I have to disagree with your reply and whole heartedly agree with the OP because as someone who purchased the Black Zinc (Eu-Brug / Batch 2) my order has also gone through an almost identical amount of delays. No one can tell me what's going on, and most of the communication that wooting puts out seems to minimize the fact that I have been watching my expected shipping date get pushed back more than a month, day by day. Please see my post in #🕒│waiting_room detailing my full experience and communication with your staff. (Its also important to note there seems to be others in my exact situation all begging for some kind of answer)

I'm a first time wooting costumer and actually decided to buy a wooting (over the keychron Q1HE) based off an interview you gave where you said that you chose to prioritize service and quality over discounting your keyboards. This experience has left an incredibly sour taste in my mouth and it makes me think you guys bite off more than you can chew and we are the ones having to pay for it.

I purchased my white zinc 80HE back in June and received it a few days ago. And while I agree, they shouldn't be taking more orders until they've at least caught up to demand - for me it was worth the wait. I have no regrets

I think if it's peeving you off this much, it may just be worth the refund peepoShrug
