#Thoughts from a non-enthusiast

I know that I am not the target market (currently) as Wooting seemingly is and should be for the KB enthusiast and competitive gamers. But what happily traps me is the software and being able to save it to the board. So please indulge my thoughts.

This week I bought a new keyboard, a 75% from Keychron, my 4th keyboard from them. I only own the 60HE from Wooting currently. The new keyboard was purchased because I have moved countries and my kit is still a month or two out. While my K2 Pro cost me 80€, I would have gladly paid 150€/175€ for an 'entry-point' Wooting if it existed. But that is such an unfair and difficult challenge.

I do notice a big different between HE and normal mechanical switches. There is no comparison IMHO as HE switches are amazing even for non-gaming tasks. As much as I feel that the 75% is simply the best, I would been more than happy to compromise with the 80HE. But at 230€, the 150€ extra is a bit much to be honest. This is not to mention the simple fact that it has a fulfilment of two months always. In short, I had to make a decision. While I find the Keychron products to be good, they are not what I truly want regardless of price.

This post is meant strictly as a bit of insight into my own decision process. There is no doubt that I would love to see Wooting spread out the price points for each of their keyboards. I would love to see the point of entry more competitive, allowing new users with less deep pockets to see what Wooting has to offer; getting them into a solid and dependable KB echo system. I would also like to see availability improved without compromise to quality, but surely this is as difficult challenge already discussed to a painful point.

In short, the Wooting team is amazing with amazing products. But getting those products seems difficult, challenging, and-or often impossible.

enough waffling on.
