Hello, I have a question regarding the 80HE JIS Module. On Twitter I was told that it sold out, and that another production is being organized. I am wondering if this is going to be one that will follow the FILCO layout, that the current one does not have.
I have had a 80HE on pre-order since June, I specifically bought the White Zinc to use it with my own keycap set. So as I today learned that my keycap sets' space bar won't work, I have decided my options, ranging from swapping to ANSI, sticking with the current JIS and changing my own space bar into it, or canceling my order.
And I've decided to cancel the order. I really hope that when the module returns on the website, that it will be produced in a way that these FILCO keysets are supported. The whole thing was a surprise to me too, but I've spent some time searching on Twitter and it seems more people wanting to use their own keycap sets were affected, and a free 4.5U space bar with a JIS module order is not really likely to be a fitting replacement for all the ranges of colors these sets may have.
A wall of text so tldr; will the JIS module return in a way that it supports FILCO based keycap sets?
