Hey.
I am a proud owner of the Wooting 60HE that by far has been the best keyboard I have ever owned. The only complaint I had was that the 60 layout was a bit too small for me, and I was missing keys that I normally would have on a TKL. So the announcement of the 80HE was a no brainer preorder for me.
Today I received my standard version of the 80HE and I was incredibly excited to use it. However, I quickly learned that it is borderline unusable for me due to the sharp edges on the case. I naturally rest my thumb just below the spacebar, and my little finger on the left side of the caps lock button. When resting my fingers in these positions the sharp edges dig into my fingers, which is quite painful.
I am baffled by the design choice to have the sharp edges on the case, which makes it extremely uncomfortable to use the keyboard. I have owned dozens of keyboards, and I have never before experienced this kind of an issue with any of them.
Had I known about this issue I would not have ordered it, or I would at least have added a Wooting 80HE wrist rest to my order, and hopefully that would sit flush with the keyboard so I would not feel the sharp edges of the case.
It feels like the edges of the case is a choice of aesthetics over function, and that is a shame.
I really hope that you consider changing the case to make the edges much softer.
In regards to my specific situation, I am struggling to find a solution that will alleviate this problem for me, and unfortunately I am extremely disappointed, since this is one of the products I have been most hyped about.
If you have any suggestions as to how to fix this issue in my situation and/or can tell me if the Wooting 80HE wrist wrest will sit flush with the keyboard so I won't be able to feel the sharp edges of the keyboard, then it would be greatly appreciated.

i feel like your options are

  • sandpaper
  • not resting your fingers there
  • wristrest

and down the line when some appear:

  • another case

Here are pics of the wooting wrist rest. I hope these pics are somewhat helpful
I can feel the edge of the keeb when putting my thumb on it. No pain but I don't rest my thumb the way you do

Putting on the other keyboard feet would fix this (6 degrees)
