Razer is the only company who creates a ergonomic gaming keypad with (good) software. If you guys can make one with mechanical keys and SOCD it can be the dominate product in this market space. I feel as if the technology you guys have is already there just turn it into a smaller ergonomic form factor as such. Hope you guys see this.
#Make a competitor product to the Razer Tartarus

Take my upvote, I've been debating buying one for a while, my hands are getting old 😅 I would love an ergo keypad with a joystick using wooting tech and overall branding/support!
i do support this but dont make like azeron which is expensive and doesnt have rapid trigger on it
I have one and been using it for 2 years. Really helped with hand pain for long sessions but it’s got a lack of new features.
Bump
Ergo the main reason? I felt this was always mega niche and getting outdated as a product
We've often gotten the question, but lower on the list versus some conventional layouts.
UwU was relatively easy, this is an exeption. This type of product however is far more challenging.
It fills both the numpad niche and the gaming nice just by making it ergo. Ergo for gamers and numpad for allowing it to have access to the macro system they are asking for. It can perform as a regular gaming wasd pad while also providing utility to the power user the numpad people are asking for. It can fill a nice for both type of consumers at the same time especially if the ergo part is optional. While the gamers may prefer the optional feature the power user may or may not but allows the product the macro support and the functionality they ask for in the numpad threads.

The utility of the Razer Tartarus is similar to what I describe. But once again the updated features such as socd will make it the flagship product
For me the Tartarus is less taxing on my carpal tunnel while also giving thumb functionality. Similar to why I use a thumb trackball and it also increases useable pinky access to keys overextending reach to tap for shift/control key hits.
would 100% buy if wooting made one
please
Ergo is 100% the main reason for the ask, but the Razer Tartarus is virtually a macro pad as well. People use it for a variety of use cases and wooting software is already on par. This thread here shows other reasons people use razer Tartarus. Also shows other peoples gripes with the razer product. https://www.reddit.com/r/razer/comments/10bab2q/unpopular_opionon_razer_tartarus_is_highly/. Would love to see a ergo gaming/macro pad from wooting come a reality.
Oh, so we're just giving away free needles now huh

if this ever happens, I hope the design is closer to Logitechs G13 with a proper (hall effect) joystick and high quality thumb switches next to it
I'm personally still using one for digital art as it's way more ergonomic in combination with a large drawing tablet rather than even the smallest keyboard
main difference between the two is 1. more keys on the g13, 2. a PROPER joystick vs. a cheap feeling d-pad on the tartarus, 3. display though imo that'd be optional
I prefer the dpad. It really just feels like another 4 set of keys for my thumb.
Idk how the proper joystick would be integrated
the g13 litally has a joystick from a controller in it , it just sits flush with the bottom case and goes straihgt up
this is the sub pcb of it, had to replace the little microswitch due to failure, which is why I said I wish for a propper switch
i personally have my 2 joystick axis set to increase/decrease zoom and brush size, with the possibility to even map the diagonals
That thumb stick is probably what makes it so expensive
I don’t really use my Tartarus for more than gaming and music control macros. I really couldn’t justify spending 500$ on it vs. the razer’s 70$. Work applications make it reasonable
the retail price was around the same, the prices just exploded because logitech discontinued it while the demand is still there for people that appreciate it
