They wouldnt because paypal holds money and locks account randomly
i’ve never had that happen idk i feel like that’s just when its fraudulent
paypal is used in majority of countries and i’ve never heard of “klarna” or “shop pay “
just can’t buy a keyboard because it doesn’t support it and i have to buy some random used one off reddit if i can even find one.
For a small business it’s not worth but at a certain scale it is worth, I think Woot has past that scale but maybe they think not.
Mansen explained that it is not worth for their finances. Because money is on hold for 6 month or account is locked
Basicly something like that
That was a while ago and if it actually wasn’t worth it at all, nobody would be using Paypal I’d think.
Month ago i think
wooting is such a big company now, paypal is like necessary
it will open up so many more sales im just sitting here not able to buy a keyboard because we choose to support random payment methods than the biggest one in the whole world
They already went trough it and it was bad
im sure they have before but the scale of this company now has to change how paypal handles them
i just hate having to look for a random used keyboard because it wont accept paypal
You dont have to
They have enough payment options
i have paypal balance
You can always use Google pay
none of the options support paypal balance
Ok and how did you make acc without card
Well your best bet is ebay or buy it from someone on wooting discord
do people sell here?
If they have spare they might
lmao no they do NOT have enough options
we in australia mostly use zip paypal and afterpay, and none of them were there as options
had to pay out of my debit card which i hate doing as my card details were stolen a while back which cost me hundreds of dollars and i dont wana go through that again, especially having to go to bank to sort things out and stuff
i wish i could use my debit card
but here in quebec our debit cards do not work online, we dont have the 3 numbers at the back, forced to use my credit card which i dont want to do.
yep paypal is the way to go
im just getting a friend to order it for me while i send him paypal money
also fun fact, literally all the options apart from debit card on the website , i'll just say i have never seen or even heard of those services. so on paper there might be 10 options but for me, i only had one answer which was the debit card. its kinda painful if you think about it haha
exactly
@chrome flower would love to know your thoughts on this to be honest, no pressure or arguments!
idk man every company ive ever purchased from accepts paypal and i thought wooting at this point is big enough
There are two problems with Paypal, one has a solution and ones does not.
The problem with a solution is that Paypal is extremely expensive for a merchant, especially one that doesn't transact in dollars for all purchases.
The solution is to charge an additional fee at purchase to utilize that specific payment method. Possible but requires dev time.
The problem that has no solution is that Paypal is incongruent with preorders. They lock funds until orders are fulfilled.
With the 80HE founder's campaign for example, if that 7 million dollars were paid via Paypal, we wouldn't see hardly a dime of that money until September. Granted, we don't need that cash to pay for the manufacturing of the keyboards in this case, but it massively impacts cash flow nonetheless.
So in short, no we will not be adding Paypal any time soon.
makes sense, in that case, how about specific regions where the payment options you offer do not work, can have paypal as an option? wouldnt that give you and the consumers more flexibility since the IP's are tracked for dollar conversions?
i'm curious about afterpay too
if they wanted to do it again. There would be option
