I would like to know if you guys are thinking of having different plate materials such as PC, POM, FR4, Carbon Fiber, Steel, Brass, or Aluminum, just to name a few. I would also like to ask if it's possible to have white variants to be able to better reflect any lighting from underneath the keycaps! The 60HE+ does it very well with its PC and Steel plates. Additionally we can get foam and silicone for underneath the module too as accessories from the Wooting store? I feel like I would need a stiffer, less flexy surface for gaming and general typing based on my preference but to each their own or perhaps in collaboration with other sites? Just some ideas :)
#Wooting 80HE Plate options with Foam and Silicone

im p certain there wont be any options for that since module is running PC while the prebuild is running steel
I would like a black PC or POM plate add on, CF would be neat too but cost to manufacture would be higher.
i thought the prebuilt on the 80HE and module were both Polycarbonate?
They are.
then why did someone say prebuilt with steel?
Maybe he thought you were talking about the 60HE, I’m not sure.
oh yeah I was talking about the 80HE taking inspiration from the 60HE, but I think if wooting isnt gonna do it (understandable), maybe someone else can partner with wooting?
Wait what i thought it was steel wtf
Cuz i saw the livestream on it, ig itz just me then
would be nice to have more plate options you can buy seperately from wooting or other retailers in collaboration with wooting
Maybe KBDFans will make a CF plate for the 80HE too.
I could see Woot adding other plastic plates but brass and cf not so sure
A brass plate would be a little bit too much
im all down for a white steel plate sorta like the 60HE+ plate but for the 80HE
so it will nicely reflect any light
A rare steel enjoyer :O, I hope if they make a steel plate for the 80 that they fix the rusting issue and properly paint or coat the entire thing.
im also a steel enjoyer
I went metal x metal for the tofu with my steel plate a while back but the angle for the tofu is too high for me so ive decided to swap back to the stock till the optimum case comes out
im using the steel plate of my 60HE+ on my Black Alumaze and it feels fine
I'm glad you guys are for or at least are entertaining the idea for possible 80HE gasket mount plates of various materials :)
Perhaps will try FR4, it’ll balance sound more with the silicone gasket
nice, also maybe a stiffer material with a white layer of paint? Thanks :)
Perhaps aluminum
intriguing proposal, just need it to reflect the RGB just like the 60HE(+) did, it just looks so fine. white alu perhaps?
