I just received my Wooting Two 100HE, installed the Wootility, and noticed that there isn't an option for American English. As a keyboard company you should respect the country that invented the keyboard and replace English with American English or at least make American English the default option.

You do realize there's barely a difference with the dialects when talking about computers right?
yeah, it's probably better to replace it with American English instead of offering both.
Why?
there are more americans
Christopher Latham Sholes (February 14, 1819 – February 17, 1890) was an American inventor who invented the QWERTY keyboard, and, along with Samuel W. Soule, Carlos Glidden and John Pratt, has been contended to be one of the inventors of the first typewriter in the United States. He was also a newspaper publisher and Wisconsin politician. In hi...

looks like they are using the word firmware which comes from American English
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Firmware#History_and_etymology
I would just like to point out that these words in the sentence you just wrote do not come from "American English":
- looks
- like
- they
- are
- using
- the
- word
- which
- comes
- from
- American
- English
so not sure what you're trying to say with respect to etymologies of the words you are using, maybe you should be speaking English or Latin instead of American English if you're gonna complain about the origins of the words being used
American English is a superset of Legacy English
Not sure what you think the word "superset" means, maybe it has a different definition in American English compared to the rest of the world's English aka just English
If you're gonna argue that it's a superset then you can't also argue that the usage of the word "firmware" in the internationally spoken English originating in America is meaningful
Okay so you're working by the same definition of superset, then you're just wrong.
that's true, some words are different and some plain dont exists in the other
Well there you go then
So then we're back to this
If you care about the etymologies of words originating in other languages or dialects, start speaking English or Latin instead
they should look at sales and use the flag of that country as the default
most sales gets their flag
🇺🇸
Are you mad at the flag in use to represent the English language, or are you mad at the word "colour" being spelled with the international spelling?
i am displeased that American English isn't the default option when i install it in america
American English is the global language used, not legacy english
Well I would like to point out first of all that a greater proportion of the British (🇬🇧) population speaks English natively than that of the United States (🇺🇸) population. I am not sure why you are that angry that the international spellings are being used instead of the American ones. Additionally, outside of the United States, English is more commonly taught.
If you're talking about the way words are spelled most Anglophone countries do not speak American English
wooting is a business. they should use the flag of the country with the most sales
or just use American english / british since they are different
yeah, it's not too much work to make another profile for american english
and if it's installed in america make that the default
or just follow the language preferences that the user has set on their system?
If they added an American English option and someone outside America has American English selected as their system language then it should still default to American English
yeah, it wont be much work.
it might just be copying the legacy english and removing one u in color and adding the american flag
Anyway, use this flag if you are not planning on adding another English variance, and if you do, add two options, one for the UK and one for America, based on the system language. Either of those options should take 5 minutes top to program and implement imo
Okay so instead of complaining here why not click that link and contribute a translation
nice
where is this?
it's in the screenshot you posted
nice, i will save the day
not sure if their translation system supports regional language variants though since I haven't seen any on there
