we can map all the mouse buttons to the keyboard but not mouse movement, good feature to not move hands off the keyboard when theres a lot of typing and other cool stuff
would be an awesome feature since the wooting is analog, you could move the mouse with precision depending on how far you press the key
looking forward for this feature to be implemented

i dont think this would be a good feature as youd basically have to massively extend the settings since there is no 1 mouse move but multiple values by which it is determined like dpi and such
also would be very cumbersome to move
not to mention windows for example has better software implementations that also take into account key repeat and such so holding down a cursor will continually move it

ultimately simon would have to decide if this is worth spending much time for FW/UX development on
I don’t think you’d need a setting for multiple values. It is determined by the Pointer Speed setting, yes, but I doubt many touch that setting. Mouse Pointer Speed and DPI are not the same and the latter is presumably what most adjust (“Gaming” mice software and such). The different values needed wouldn’t be a setting but rather change depending how deep a switch is presses, that’s what OP means. I had a “mouse” on a board and it was quite handy, I used it for building in some games that required precise lateral camera movements. I’d definitely love to see it but like with most features, most won’t care much or at all about it which may makes it a waste of time from a business perspective. I believe it’s all in the little things though. 🥲
It would also be pretty fucking sick to have a keyboard that can identify as a controller and a mouse too. 💯
i feel the dpi = depth is a really hard thing to control
Depends on the curve but for most, probably. Still a lot better than using time as depth, i.e held for <500ms = slow, 500-1500ms = medium, 1500> = fast.
Now I think about it, a lot of non-analog features could really benefit from an analog curve option. Even just holding a key to get rapid inputs could benefit from using depth instead of time (would have to be handled by the board rather than OS I think).
Like the discontinued 3D Touch on iPhones. 😂
I actually programmed a workaround using autohotkey to translate keys into mouse movement including curves, and it works VERY well to have this mouse control on a function layer. I would love to see this in the keyboard itself, especially because it could then use the analog keys and it would not depend on autohotkey as translator.
I know adding this would need a firmware update and the keyboard to actually register as a keyboard and a mouse, but other portable remote control devices do exactly that, so technically, it is possible. The question is how difficult it is to implement in the wooting firmware.
(/edit: thinking about this ... the keyboards are actually already able to register as keyboard and gamepad)
