I've pre-ordered an 80HE but see the wrist rest can't attach to the keyboard.
I regularly need to move my keyboard, and love the way the Steelseries magnetically attaches, so it sticks with the keyboard when moved but it's easy to pick it up when I need it out of the way.
I'm guessing though that a magnetic wrist rest will interfere with the Hall effect? If not, please can we have it?
Otherwise, what about an extension to the wrist rest of a rim that lassos around the keyboard? Like the pic.
Or little clips on the side?
Or velcro?
Help! 😆
#Attachable wrist rest?

Issue with a rim would be well the size not being very convenient to pack
I think it would be easy to redesign the wrist rest ever so slightly, to accompany a little square extension on the attaching side, that fits good enough into the crease from the case design to hold it together?
universal designs are complicated
its bettwe that it doesnt attach so tge user can do micro adjustments, but you can add magnets
100% not reccomended to add magnets. There's a reason it doens't have them already. You'll end up with potential interference on the bottom row.
With the angle of the wrist wrest you could do a thin strip of velcro to keep them attached but it would be pretty ugly on the keyboard housing and not a stick great given the wrist wrest material. Might need to replace it now and then.
I tried to put a sticker on the corner of my 2he wrist rest when i got it and the adhesive seemed to just denature after like 2 days and really didn't wanna stick.
true, velcro would probably be better
but still, I wouldnt for the sole reson of wanying to micro adjust
But Corsair use magnetic wrist rest in their keyboards. Don’t see how it wouldn’t be possible?
You can try if you want. there's a ton of support tickets that would suggest magnets, EMF, or desks made of a lot of metal without any buffer against the keyboard can cause random actuation at low values
cuz Corsair doesn’t do he keyboards
and magnets would interfere with he keyboards
k70 max has them, uses a magnetic wrist rest
I think they're just insanely weak magnets because it also seems to use clips
nvm then
