#Is it possible to use RGB as status indicator?

Due to the lack of Status LED (wooting 60HE) it would be nice to use the Keys itself as a Status indicator.

Example: Turn all my letter keys from green to red after enabling the "Lock" aka Game-Mode OR change the caplock key color to "white" after enabling caps-lock

what do you think? Do you like the idea.

Maybe its already possible but not that obvious to configure properly

Yes, it is already possible, that's what small circles on "lock" modifiers are responsible for
What's more, that way displaying status is independent of keycaps, because LEDs are doing all the work, so you can set "lock" modifiers wherever you want during remapping

Ah nice ... so its working flawlessly for caps lock.

But how can i use this feature to status the "Key Lock". Looks like its not possible to switch color per Key for the "Key Lock" Key itself.

#

For the "Fn 1" Key the dot is not working at all. The Key color does not change

Tbh i dont know why the Fn1 Key has such a status indicator anyway

#

Or can i somehow add this "dot indicator" to every key if i want to?

no only caps, num and scrl have these indicators as far as i know

#

FN keys have these for when you lock the FN layer via the FN lock on the layer

Thanks @lofty lake @upbeat hemlock

So ... currently no way to indicate activated "Key Lock". Okay

lofty lake
#

because there is no other lock keys

#

we have toggle keys (which im unsure if these do benefit from this) and a function called key lock which doesnt switch a state but prevents a key from functioning

#

i guess toggle keys should get a setting like this

fossil warren
#

oh maybe this was not 100% clear ... im talking about the binded function key "key lock"

for me its a "stateful" key ... because in the end it toggles the "Win" Key on/off

well its sort of a disfunction of how english communicates this. it disables a key

#

nothing else.

#

normal lock keys (capslock, numlock and scroll lock) actually toggle a state in your OS

#

i do understand why it would be helpful but sadly an Led being on or off cant communicate if a key is toggle or disabled

#

ideally the keylock would disable the RGB of a disabled key

#

ill forward this topic internally to the right people so they can evaluate this

Theoretically you can set the color of RGB to black, that should disable LED

yes, works with "caps lock" but not with "key lock" ... because that key works somehow different ... like Tony mentioned @upbeat hemlock
