Bakeneko(Unikorn) x Wooting 60HE

This is my endgame 60HE build in the making.

The Case is a custom Bakeneko CNC case in Unikorn look, with a gummy o-ring mount.
I modified the wooting pcb with cutouts, so the o-ring can rest on the case standoffs.

Next steps are:
-swapping the steel plate for an aluminium plate
-lube and filming the switches
-tuning the stabs

Will test it out with a few test switches. Usually just use some krytox oil and bag lube the springs

well technically gumm o ring is a variation of a gasket mount. gasket mount just means the plate and pcb are completly disconnected from the case with some kind of gasket material, be it poron, o-ring etc. At least that's how I have noticed most people in the hobby using the term

Found a keycap set, that I thinks suits the case colour very well. Also some more pictures in a bit of a better lighting than before :)

List of mods so far:
-custom cnc bakeneko case in unikorn style
-modified 60HE pcb with standoff cutouts for gummy o-ring mount
-custom aluminum plate, plate foam currently still installed
-50A o-ring
-switches lubed and filmed (krytox 205g0 and TX 0.150mm films)
-stabs lubed with 205g0

Yes, I provided the files. Mine were based on the v1 files which where adapted by a different person to look like the unikorn and then I adapted those files so that the case fits a wooting pcb

Yes they aren't available anymore per request of singakbd, some users still have them locally and will send you them, but you have to look around on the bakeneko discord

But just the v1 files as such won't work with the wooting pcb

and then its a matter of modifying the mounting points

The v1 had the usb port center too, only thing different between bakeneko v1 and v3 are the mounting posts

seems like changing v3 usb port location + adding gh60 mounting points would be enough to friction fit it with an oring

No, the mounting points all needed to be moved anyways. I happened to use the v1 files as that's what the other User used to make a bakeneko in unikorn style and that's what I worked off

Can't say for sure, would be coincidence if the gh60 cutouts are placed right for the wooting pcb

I think wooting matches GH60, since it fits most GH60 cases

If you want to go that route I would suggest getting a tofu or something similar. The advantage of the bakeneko is the o ring mount. If you use If for friction mount, you get the same result as a tofu or a different gh60 case. Wouldn't be worth the work and the price of a custom case

The weight is part of the redesign that was done to the v1 files to make it similar to a unikorn case

Yes the standard bakeneko doesn't have a weight, nor the v1 or the v3

Yes, since I built it, its been my daily keyboard. Have had plans to swap out the pcb for the screw ins stabs pcb for a long time, but so far I haven't really felt a need for it, so I have been just daily driving the build as is

I replaced some of the switches for jade switches, never got around to switch the comple board haha. Aswell as switched to a softer o ring

Also got the original weight sandblasted again and then covered it with a cleae coat, because the Finger prints were bugging me. This is the before and after with the 2nd weight I got made back then

i think your alu plate is a really great choice in the long run for a gummy mount board
In both of my gummy mount boards Vella60 PE and Frog Mini Leggera I used aluminum plate in both and they turned out amazing

Yeah still running the alu plate. Do wanna try out other materials some time, cause I have always been running alu plates on all my Keyboards. But i haven't felt any need to try around yet, still happy with the alu

i see, i can send you some sound tests of FR4, ALU, and CF of my builds if you'd like. It should give you an idea of what they sound

Need to get a sound test of the vella with fr4 plate on a keebmat later on. KeebMAT does quite a lot for my board since my feets sit pretty low and flat and i'm using a glass desk.
