#gamepad movement canceling

they should cancel out already
wootility can show you what the gamepad output does
Well in apex legends it prioritizes first input over the second so maybe we need a setting for apex ?
that doesnt matter for a stick cause there is no first or second on an axis
so unless it actually still uses wasd for movement and not left stick there should not be a possibility of anything like this
Well I have it in gamepad mode / Xbox roller and when I hit a and d together it favours whichever direction hit first
did you check that you can actually move slowly like with a controller?
amd did you unmap movement keys in apex?
Yes and yes
odd because an axis (left/right or up/down) on a stick is an axis cause its only a number from -1 to 1. there is no direction held first because real sticks cant even do that
and the keyboard of course cant break this convention as all controllers on computers work this exact way
id check in something like https://hardwaretester.com/gamepad if the left stick goes to a neutral position
Displays info about all gamepads connected to your computer. Check buttons, joystick axes, drift, and more. Works with all controllers and joysticks in a modern browser.
Ya on tester it's not sitting in the middle it's always going to one side
^
Same thing if I hold d and hit a it goes to the left not to the middle
no i meant send a screenshot or something of the mapping
do you have snappy joystick enabled?
good question idk if we ever implemented it
i very rarely use joystick on wootings nowadays
Dang so is there any way we can implement a cancel out when full magnitude is hit on the keys
the cancel out is the default
it dies that on my analog drive profile for cyberpunk
imma have to jump into wootility after dinner and then i can check
send a profile code in the meantime so i can check with your profile
? I mean I haven't changed anything other than setting the stick up on keys , sounds good I'll keep looking

so we did add it
TIL
this is why its happening though
gamepad response -> analog curve -> advanced settings
its not exactly whichever is pressed first
just whichever is bigger
so if a is pressed half way and then you start pressing d to more than that it still outputs d
Where is this
Nvm found it and now works thank you very much kind sir
What's the point of Snappy Joystick in a normal use case?
being able to hold lets say w which is mapped to right trigger at 50% but still being able to press left trigger mappes to s as well
so you can drive at 50% throttle but break
shit example
triggers are separate
same for moving with a stick though
if you wanna move at 50% stick speed to the left with a
you can hold it there
and move to the right as well at 51% or more
