That’s crazy. Nice work.
My fellow king, could you please describe how those ceramic/ wood keys feel?
Like a silky dream
very slippery when you slide on it but enough grip when you press it. Also 3g for 1u key make lekker 60 feels more like a 50g for the ceramic ones
Wooden ones are very grippy and feels like raw wood, weight close to pbt
space bar is varnished other arent, just raw wood
From what you’ve typed so far, how would you describe the difference in sound between the woods and ceramics? Like, of the two, which sound clacky v. Thocky? Obv, the accents are probably not the best test since they seem to be generally larger than the ceramics
thb wood sound is the closer to regular PBT keys, but ceramic is just end game for thockyness
I know what I must do now, thank you 🫡
which color for your cerakeys?
All black, white legends to match my Full 2 HE case
Ideally, I’d like all black, gold legends but I can’t find those, so white legends are my second choice
ok then be aware of next batch of restock, fyi black ones sold in 20min last time
Can you be so kind as to post a link for the keys, fam?
i mean blank black ones, with legend you should have one hour or 2 ^^
just seach cerakeys https://www.cerakey.com
Thank you for your patience answering my questions 🫱🏽🫲🏻
good luck
slick but doesnt look like ceramic
Close enough right? Haha kidding, love your keyboard brother
thx, you got a nice and slick one too
Wow, thank you for that. I guess I’ll always be a blank boy
haha sliiiiiiiiiiiick
sound test for the cerakeys?
i wait for my POM plate and then i'll give it a try 🙂
if they sound good ill buy the black ones with legends
then you got a month ahead before restock 😉
np, times not the issue
true, i'll make the sound test with POM plate and gateron magnetic orange before that 😄
and gotta find a better mic than my S21
my goal is to get closer to https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qhL6BYHeh3I&t=2148s

probably not possible, but lemme try

you can make it sound close to it

but for now, switch rattle and plate ping make it way worse :/
from my investigations i think that's the prob
what would be your first thing to mod on it?
With ceramic black blanks!
@strange frigate For the sound, I think you can certainly get close to what you are looking for. In my build, I have the same "crunch" sound but deeper (and not as good of a mic)
oh shi
Thanks for the feedback, i spent a lot of time experiencing Switch Tape Mod tonight, way less rattle in the stems, in 2 weeks i'll get my pom plate and gateron magnetic orange, i hope it'll make things easier. For now :
@sand onyx you're using a carbon plate right?
spacebar scratching noise fixed, really like how thocky it is, i may reconsider my plans
i may have ordered the wrong plate for my goal anyway
oh maii gaaaaddddd you actually did it
great progress gjgjgj
you have impressed me
Correct, I mainly went with the carbon fiber plate because the case I built around is a top mount, so the mounting points are on the edges of the keyboard. I worried that a soft plate would be too flexy. But with a standard tray mount, I think soft plates are good and I personally prefer them over metal. I think you shouldn't second-guess yourself!
is there smth to put between the switch and plate to reduce the switches sounds
Thanks, the switch tape mod made the most of it, i just removed some of my funky mods and restart from scratch. So modding the switch removed the wobble, ok cool but I was just baffled how it made the whole build thocky.
The fun fact is that the guy on the video is using a POM plate..... but with a metal case. My solid wood case is naturally incline to be thocky and tends to become hollow and pingy with high pitch tones. So i would probably have to change the case to reach the video sound profile. I will just try the POM plate in my wood case and try to make it a thocky thocc keeb.
changing the plate material would be more efficient than pads or stuff like that
actual mods : lubed switch tape mod ( with lil band piece off the stem hole ), heavy tempest mod (wrapping), bottom case tempest mod too
(to remove hollow), only one layer of the wooting foam, removed screw standoffs leaving only 3 with lil foam pads on it.

hand lubed lekkers with ceramics
Gateron oranges (lot of spring noise and stem wooble so.... not worth it imo) Lot of reverb in the keycaps
deeper nice
SM Keeb ISO POM plate
GYAAAAAAAAAAAT
mic sucks tho gotta find a better spot for the mic
mann who gives a f-
that shit sounds differeeenttt
with POM sounds deeper and consitent
does the spacebar not go up fast? someone told me that due to its weight
This is correct, with stock springs. You need to use a stronger spring to handle the extra weight. In the picture, I was actually using a normal spacebar at that time due to this issue.
https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256803212106741.html
I used the "0.3mm Wire diameter, 20mm Length, 6.0mm Outer diameter" and it felt fine to me.
Did you find replacement springs?
Bc those in the link are magnetic and I believe that can lead to some different issues
Oh i just realised there is a chat for cerakey'ed 60HE
it's not official, but you're welcome here 🙂
do you guys have the spacebar that is kinda a little smaller? Theres a sizable gap between the spacebar and the alt keys... its kinda of annoying to look at it..
yea i just compared the ceramic spacebar with my wood and PBT ones, looks like 1mm is missing
as i mixed cera and wood i just use the wood one
Oh damn the wood looks fantastic, now I wished I had bought blank keycaps, especially looking at the font of the keycaps, I don't really like them...
their new colored split set looks great tbh, i was just stuck with my ISO French layout
and i really like blanks too
Yeah the blanks look amazing. i'm looking at their website now and looks like their white blank is sold out..
A little bit tempting to get a new set and try to sell of what I bought previously
Oh when i bought it, white blanks sold out 3 hours after launch and Black just... 20min.... you gotta be aware on their discord to get them
I didn't notice any issues. The neodymium magnet used in the lekker switches should be much stronger than the springs. I guess it is a inconvenience that they can stick to your stems when you are trying to lube them?
Haven't found any nonmagnetic replacement springs though, you may have to cut springs from a larger quantity, I think one person did that
Does that affect the sensitivity of the key? Being magnetic, i don't think it means it is a magnet but rather it can be magnetised and could change the strength of the magnetic field of the neodymium magnet, which could affect the reading of the magnetic strength by the hall sensor. Although it could also be an insignificant amount so its not a concern.

anyone know how to fix the cerakey spacebar on the 60he?
seems that swapping the springs would be the solution but idk
i figured out you can use the space bar with the L60, i think the problem is more related to stabs than key weight. If you plug the space bar just a little not fully bottom out, just enough to get the 3 stems in to make it stable but not fully inserted in the stabs , then the L60 is enough to pop it back without any issues with a nice soft feeling
