my N key will think that it is still being pressed slightly when it's fully depressed.
it will remain red for a short period after releasing it if i use the RT
display RGB effect on a profile with rapid trigger enabled and will spam a couple more Ns if i put the actuation point very low with rapid trigger disabled.

i'd just swap it with one of the spare switches included in the box but the tool to remove the switches is not included, is there a good way to remove the switch without the tool or is it recommended to not attempt to remove it without the proper tool?

id not suspect that its the switch but improper calibration

sly mauve
#

To verify if there is a calibration issue, please follow these steps:

  • Unplug the keyboard.
  • Plug it back in.
  • Wait for 5 seconds before pressing any keys.
marble bramble
#

is there a way to recalibrate it?

#

ok

#

does it matter if i have wootility open or not when i do that?

dull gale
#

no

sly mauve
#

nope you should be fine

marble bramble
#

it still does it

sly mauve
#

could attempt the following
in wootility

  • select "colour" tab
  • go to "RGB fx"
  • Select the "Touch" effect
  • press the switch and see how far it reacts to the press

it is a good way to showcase the analog range

marble bramble
#

it's pretty inconsistent, sometimes it will stay red for like 10 seconds other times only a fraction of a second

#

i'll try the touch effectg

#

seems to work as you'd expect with that effect

#

it's the one that gradually lights up the F keys, right?

sly mauve
#

so the effect showcases that the Switch is reading from F1-F12 that corresponds to how much you press
it 0-100%

is that correct?

marble bramble
#

yeah

sly mauve
#

~~just to check a few other things incase it is related

1.are you editing an Active profile
(Top 4 profiles of wootility / Saved to keyboard memory)

2.~~

marble bramble
sly mauve
#

ohhh that is what you are asking about

#

dose this only happen to the "N" key?

marble bramble
#

yea

#

i would've thought it'd show a bit of light still on the F1 after i let go of it if it thinks it's still being pressed slightly but nah

sly mauve
#

hmm might be firmware related

you could preform a Restore

  • Please note that this process will erase your saved profiles, so ensure you back them up by duplicating them beforehand.

To perform a restore, you can follow these steps:

  • wootility
  • Settings
  • troubleshooting
  • select Layout
  • restore
marble bramble
#

it'll also not register properly if I spam it, I guess cuz it thinks its still held from the initial press

#

how do i backup the profiles? duplicate them into an inactive one?

sly mauve
#

inactive profiles are saved to the (broswer or App)
so if the duplicated profiles are there they are safe

marble bramble
#

it failed

#

i'll replug and try again

#

it's getting stuck on waiting for update mode to connect then showing me that error

#

im gonna restart my pc

#

still giving me the error

#

i tried 3 different usb ports 1 usb2 and 2 usb3s

sly mauve
#

it could be having trouble geting the keyboard to enter "wooting Restore Mode"
you can manually force it into "restore mode"
by doing the following

  • unplug the keyboard
  • Hold down the selected keys from the image
  • Plug the keyboard back in
  • after 5 secs let go of the keys
  • attempt the restore processes again
marble bramble
#

the n key seems to have stopped being weird now anway tho?

#

wth

sly mauve
#

huh...

marble bramble
#

maybe because i swapped around the USB port it was in or when i restarted my pc

sly mauve
#

well my job here is done

marble bramble
#

should i be concerned about it getting stuck on waiting for update mode to connect though?

#

could it have a problem updating to new firmware in the future? it updated the firmware fine when i first plugged it in and opened wootility

sly mauve
#

may be an issue on firmware updates

#

if you do have problems in the future regarding that can make a #1019755933959733258 post

i am not the best when it comes to troubleshooting the software side of things that could be stopping firmware updates

A work around could be just preforming a update on anouther computer
