#Feedback on Lekker switches

A tiny percent of our Lekker switches (less than 1%) are not so lekker. Specifically, they aren't completely smooth for the full extent of the keypress. If you think you may be affected, don't worry - we've got you covered.

A full report on the concern, including root cause analysis and what to do if you believe your keyboard/switches may be affected, can be found here:

The purpose of this thread is allow for individuals to provide feedback on the situation, including Wooting's handling thereof, while not burying the results of the investigation reported in the support center thread.

Thanks for the update on this. Couple of quick questions:

  • I previously emailed support about this issue and provided some photos etc. during the troubleshooting phase. Do I need to contact support again to ask for a replacement set of switches or will someone from support reach out to me/send something out when the new batch comes in?

  • I think in the other post you mentioned RMA, does this mean you'd like the original faulty switches back? Or are you just sending out replacements where needed? I don't mind sending them back but preferably after I get a new set and would expect that Wooting would be covering the cost for this.

Thanks!

# bright rock Thanks for the update on this. Couple of quick questions: - I previously emaile...
  1. Most likely we've got your support ticket still active or pending, but I encourage you to send a follow up email just to be sure.
  2. We don't want the original switches returned, no point in paying for that return shipping cost if they'd just end up getting destroyed anyway. If it involves a recently purchased keyboard that is being returned for a refund with respect to this situation, we'll pay the return shipping costs.

Thanks for the quick reply, that all sounds fair to me.

Is shipping cost covered only for refund? Does it apply to replacement switches?

silver hazel

Replacement switches will be sent for free with free shipping.
Keyboards returned for refund due to this reason will receive a prepaid shipping label.

Hi,
After reading the response to the Discord post with the switch-resistance-problem and since I'm suffering from the problem myself, I'm wondering whether I should send in my keyboard that's about a week old or wait for the switch to be replaced. In order to change the switches myself I would probably have to order a keyboard switch toolkit since I don't have a switch puller. So should I send in my keyboard, or will wooting send a switch puller to those affected in addition to the switches - which I can't imagine

vagrant cipher
#

imo just wait for switches to arrive. switch pullers are dirt cheap so you can order one if they wont provide one with the switches

Is the problem really just one percent?🤔

The 1% depends on a lot of factors including the time frame being looked at. Recently you’ve had a pretty big chance to get bad switches. I got my first keyboard that had the issue which was later swapped for the correct ISO format. New board also was equipped with not so lekker switches 😦 I can only speak for myself. But I know of others that have experienced similar issues in the not too distant past.

send an email if you havent yet

Actually, I don't really mind, but the point is that if you receive bad switches, it's a waste of time to change them.

#

I'm too lazy to wait, haha.

#

I think many people receive this bad switches but they just don't speak out about it.

Can I ask if the L60 is significantly different in terms of weight? Currently, I'm using the Logitech G512 with blue switches. I play Osu!, and I want to know if it's as heavy as blue switches.

sinful wedge
#

should be a tad lighter than the blues

#

or same

#

idk sources on blue bottom out force are not consistent

haughty saffron
#

And is it true that the L60 has a starting actuation force of 45 grams?

Hi I’ve got a 60he coming between 22-25 sept from the eu-nevel batch. Do you think my keyboard is affected?

haughty saffron
#

Can you come report if you've got a keyboard? I'm curious if it's possible to get a defective switch

reposting
(reduces unnecssary wear and tear on **clips)
(last time I posted this it was apparently very "controversial" to some people even though its a simple fix, I cant be bothered to argue about it again so gl fixing I wont be replying, if you get it you get it)

sinful wedge

The top clips cant move so you can easely damage them when pulling them in and out

regarding replacement switches

sinful wedge
# inland wave Did u receive an answer (Email) so far?

Not me directly but someone else got a reply stating that there is a small chance of receiving faulty switches(same as before) if we get replacements now. We can wait for a month or two until only the new switches are left in stock.

#

On my end i have been said to be assigned to mark.

#

I still have to wait for yhe module so i dont mind the wait

I received an email today, the switches are on the way, the problem with the switch puller was also resolved to my satisfaction, I really have to give a big shout out to customer support, very courteous and uncomplicated, thank you Wooting

snow spruce
#

@sinful wedge mine just shipped from the warehouse, so I will probably receive them near the end of November. I will resort back once I get then

#

Did yours ship yet?

sinful wedge
#

No i didnt want them to ship it yet.

snow spruce
#

Ahhh, alright

#

@inland wave Have you gotten your switches?

crude marsh
#

I got my replacement switches, and after all the mayhem, months waiting, new SKU, then waiting for my order to be switched to that new SKU of "SW2-LKR-L45-70P" I end up getting boxes of the old SKU of "SW1-LKR-L45-70P" regardless (note SW1, SW2) ...woowee

#

Will open and check later (on the offchance somehow the barcode wasnt changed??? but then how did the distribution center know what to change to/from)

sinful wedge
#

Rip

#

I tought they quarantined and destroyed the old switches

crude marsh
sinful wedge
#

No i dont have my old box. I didnt receive the replacements since i didnt want them to ship it yet.

crude marsh
#

Ah okay, was wanting to see if the barcode had changed and they forgot the SKU was printed on there too

silver hazel
#

The box itself has the same SKU as we didn't also destroy the packaging at the manufacturer

inland wave
# snow spruce Ahhh, alright

Oh nice, thanks for the clarification Mark! Maybe a sticker over the box to not have us have a mild panic? 😄

#

Ah yeah @brisk zinc, I was gonna ping you!

#

I've got mine open now and tested, they are drastically better than before. I'm happy with them and have lubed a few

#

There is some very minor "stickiness" on some 1.25 keys (real minor though, nit-picking.), for 1x keys and keys with stabilizers I can accurately use the analog functionality :). A reminder that with the old switches using the analog functionality was very frustrating as the movement would often get stuck, no longer!

brisk zinc
#

That's awesome. I'm glad to hear they are working well for you! I'm prob gonna lube these on the weekend since im working all week zzz. Can't wait.

sinful wedge

that sounds awsome

Glad to hear guys, I am excited for the new switches to come in! 🙏
