#60he randomly entering keys

Today while playing minecraft my 60he randomly started entering keys. At first I assumed it was related to the keys with adjusted actuation points, but I have only adjusted that on 6 keys and it was effecting many more keys than that. At the suggestion of a user in the 60he section I completely turned off the rgb and it seemed to calm down, though I'm hesitant to leave it plugged in as it was causing havoc, zooming programs in and out and entering all sorts of hotkeys inadvertently.

Incidentally, my wootility software is now basically unusable because it has zoomed in a huge amount and I'm unable to restore the default zoom level. I figured the relevant command would be ctrl-scroll or ctrl-plus/minus but neither of those are causing it to change. The web version is still functional, but I would much rather have the software retuned to its original state. I can upload a screen shot if requested/allowed.

I have the latest firmware and both tachyon mode and rapid trigger are enabled. I'm using the usb cable it came with which is plugged directly into my motherboard.

Again, only 6 keys have had their actuation points adjusted and this was impacting far more than those 6.

I would greatly appreciate some feedback about this issue as it's left me very hesitant to continue using this keyboard.

Also, have you modded the keyboard in any way? New case? New foam? Anything like that?

I've done nothing to the keyboard other than adjust things in the wootility software. I'll go through the reset procedure tomorrow. Thanks for the feedback!

I personally dont use tachyon when not necessary.

thanks for that link! and tachyon mode was the main selling point of the keyboard for me actually, so I'd like to keep using it whenever possible

Always test with the stock cable if something is off.

If that works, there's most likely either a flaw in the cable you're using, or it isn't built for Tachyon mode (without compromising on the LED brightness levels)

@lyric talon I am using the stock cable, I didn't customize anything at all

Ah my apologies. Was going through threads. This was meant for the other thread where someone used a custom coiled cable.

No worries! I'll check out the video speedbuff posted a little later tonight, it seems very relevant

So I tunred off tachyon mode and left brightness at a low level, but the problem returned. I then turned brightness completely off (with tachyon mode still off) and the problem continued

#

I did a basic reset and it was still. I've now done a full factory reset and it's working again, but I remain extremely wary of using the keyboard or leaving it plugged in after this

#

Im also leaving the brightness at zero as this really seems like a hardware or cable issue

#

If it returns I'll be contacting the wooting support team directly to see what they suggest

#

I take that back, it just started freaking out again in its pure default state with no lighting options turned on. Sigh

How long did you have it for

about a month, it's from the comet run

Only other thing I can think of, is trying to use a different USB port on your PC?

plush pumice

Have tried three different ones, and even tried my powered usb hub just to try it. It's definitely the usb cable or a hardware fault in the board

Dang, yeah it might be something that needs to be RMA'd unfortunately then. Have you sent an email to Wooting support yet?

I haven't yet, but I'll do that tomorrow night so it's on top of the queue when they get into the office

Honestly not sure if it matters when you email them. I would guess they receive their emails on a first come first serve basis no matter what time of day/night you send it in. I could be wrong though.
