60HE Poseidon PSD60 Case Swap

Hi all!

Here's my 60HE Case Mod!

Case is Poseidon PSD60 in silver. Mods include:

• Tempest mod
• Burger Mount
• Custom cut brass weight
• Sorbothane foam lined with medical tape
• Carbon fiber 3M vinyl wrap over Wooting switch plate
• Durock V2 stabilizers, lubed and holee modded
• Taped, spring swapped, and re-lubed Lekker switches
• Drop DCX Permafrost PBT keycaps

Can we change stabilizers to durock v2 ? god damm I never know we can change it. Any sound test ?

Yup, you can swap it to the durock plate mounted stabs! Here's the typing video:

I'm still continuing to try to make the keys sound more clacky with an alu case and all these mods, but with these Lekker switches I can only go so far. I also had to go back and relube and holee mod the stabs and spacebar again because of a rattle that showed up, but now no more rattle!

If you haven't already, using grease over lube is key!

holy, that individual medical tape for each switch seems like the biggest PITA. how long did that take you?!

About 4 hours! We are lucky the 60he only has 62 keys 😅

What was the reason you switched from the baka to the psd?

I ordered the PSD60 as that was my first choice, but saw that the Baka was only $50 local pickup for me, so I bought it as a backup in case the PSD60 didn't feel as dense as I was expecting it to be. Surprisingly though, the baka felt really solid despite it being really thin and I was enjoying it while waiting for the PSD60

anyone has the psd60 here too and tried a silicone custom mold/pour for dampening/reducing the pingy sound?

I have tried a silicone method where I apply a blob on the inside of the top housing, but it felt mushy and uneven when the stem came back up, I might have to try it again and this time flatten the application before it fully cures for a more even feedback.

Loving the set up and pictures. Which one do you prefer? Baka60 or PSD60. I'm in a dilemma right now for both cases. Thanks.

Thank you! Although I really enjoyed both, I think the PSD60 was what I was looking for in terms of sound, feel, and weight. The Baka60 felt small since it was thinner, but didn't feel hollow surprisingly. The PSD60 has the sharp edges I want and is heavier. In terms of sound, the Baka60 sounded thocky, and the PSD60 sounded clacky, but that is also influenced by the keycaps you use.

Interesting, I would've thought of the latter. Thanks for your insight! I'll sleep on it a bit more. There's also Wootings own aluminum case possibly coming in this summer as well so we'll see. Thanks again man!

No problem! Because I can't get the tofu60 for less than $100, I figured the PSD60 would be the closest in terms of shape and angle, which is why I'm opting to use it over the Baka60, which I may just build another 60 board with that case instead. I'm also waiting for the Wooting alu case and see what that offers! 👌

I used Tofu60, stock foam, burger mount, tempest mod, your lube and tape mod on the switch, and KBDfans keycaps.

I gotta say it's probably the tofu60 and the keycaps that helps create the marbly sound, along with the taping on switch mod. Good job!! 👌

Yup, that's the thock! Great job! I've noticed that it's deeper with the Baka60 than it is with the PSD60 which is just clacky, and makes me want to swap back sometimes 😆

@native solar so my unbranded PSD60 came in. Loving it so far but I noticed that my Right FN and left control key touches the keys sometimes. Is there a fix for this?

Idk if the unbranded PSD60 have some variances but it seems the same from what I've seen

@native solar here ya go. Depends how straight I press down the key of course to not touch the wall but I'm definitely not going to actively strike a key straight down lol

Now that I'm looking at it. I think it's just the Wooting keycaps. They're more pointy at the ends versus my other keycaps on my Razer I'm tryna sell lol

I fixed it by filing down the points. no more grinding!

I checked mine and while the space is crazy small, I'm not hitting the corners at all, even with these keycaps

oh wow, thats like a hair of clearance it looks like as well.
Also I'm glad I went with the PSD60. Like you mentioned your self the wall for the Baka seemed a bit thin. The wall for the PSD60 is nice. Thanks again for the help and suggestions

No problem! I plan to make a silicone mold of the PSD60 so I can make a resin case of it, so I can have the Baka60 as my backup to game with while the PSD60 sits in a pool of silicone 😆

You can try! I find medical tape to be porous thus 'soft' so it can absorb the impact of the stem hitting the top housing on the upstroke
