Just got my Wooting two HE in the mail! I play a lot of Halo Infinite and being able to walk would help dramatically with some of the funky movement quirks this game has.

Has anyone else been able to get this game working in the past? (Or at all)

I can't seem to get the game to detect any analog inputs (Xbox Controller mode or otherwise)
I suspect there's some kind of device filtering thing going on but I am not sure, it may also be related to the way the game deals with inputs.

AFAIK this game uses GameInput (which is yet ANOTHER input API by Microsoft): https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/gaming/gdk/_content/gc/input/overviews/input-overview

Are there any other games that anyone can think of that uses this input API? And if so, I wonder if it works correctly with a Wootings' analog keys..

Should also mention that this game does handle split inputs correctly, and has a metric crapload of binding options as well..

Here's my profile, I was having issues with the game picking up my WASD keys

In game you'll need to unbind them by changing each of movement bindings to another key you already have bound and then rebinding that key to what it originally was

did you unbind wasd in infinite?

I rebound 'G' for each of the W, A, S, and D keys and then rebound G to throw grenade
That unbound the keys in game

The game doesn't directly allow you to unbind keys unfortunately

But after unbinding WASD I stopped having issues

There's been a few patches since I originally tried so things may have changed.

well ideally the Gamepad Mapping overrides should not send wasd from the keyboard side.

might have also been a firmware bug where the toggle got ignored and the digital keys got sent anyway

I suspect things have changed though, like you said there's been a few firmware updates since then, and the game has gotten a few patches as well. Regardless it works now as I expected it to work

Does closing a post kill it completely? or is it archived?

locking a post would kill it but we ususally dont so people can later reply to it with further questions/comments

I appreciate the explination in this post. I have unbound the wasd keys from the direction but I cannot get halo to register the game pad directions.

i dont have a wooting yet to test but i figure this is the detail that is missing

so i assume in keyboard and mouse game menu for move forward , back, left , right he bound them all to g first

I see, I missed the part where you havent tested it with the wooting. I did follow what you did but the game just doesnt register the analog inputs at all.

I did copy the code and import it. After importing I unbound WASD in halo. The game still does not detect the anolog gamepad inputs. I know its working though because in wootility in gamepad response I can see the feedback for the gamepad mapped keys.

tyhye gamepad tester says the inputs are working, but if I have halo putlled up I can't move. Additionally, while halo is pulled up the gamepad tester no longer recieve input

No, I am experiencing the same behavior still. I was hoping @woven badger could chime in again and verify his setup still works. Maybe post a screen recording/screenshots of it working.

I don't have Windows so my experience is exclusively within Linux, but with the correct profile selected and WASD unbound it seems to work correctly

Could it be that GameInput on Windows doesn't work correctly with the Wooting?

I am also running the latest firmware v2.6.22 (try and update in case you aren't updated) and my keyboard is in Xbox mode

Is this where you change it to xbox mode? If so, this is default and yes it was in xbox mode. Tried it in classic as well

Additionally I went throught the wooting gamepad troubleshooting guide. Updated all my usb drivers, chipset drivers. Isolated the keyboard on its own usb controller etc. I am on an amd x570 mobo which they state has had issues in the past. But like I said the game pad tester in the wootility is registering input. That indicates the xbox controller driver is installed and working on my computer.

You can try and force Steam Input for Halo Infinite

Make sure it's enabled for Xbox controllers in Steam

I got my keyboard today and still playing with it , but had the oppositte issue. I had to have the keys bound to WASD to get it to work.

One annoying thing is there is some shortcut I can not disable the on screen keyboard for steam big picture mode but that is a team issue. Figuring out how to toggle modes helps.
