Any USB C cable should indeed work, as long as it’s not marked as only for charging.
Just needs to be USB 2.0 or higher, which Most cables are

So basically a USB-C (non thunderbolt) that supports up to 10Gbps of data transfer is the replacement cable that can be utilized is what i'm getting at
