@ashen spindle My logic is that you might as well use the warranty while you've got it. The remaining slots might die when it's too late. Or it's a single pin on the CPU socket that's not touching, causing issues.
Because that can happen. If the right (or wrong) pins don't make contact (or are gone), you can have all manner of weird issues like losing double channel or parts of the chipset.
