So fun you spend hours identifying problems, make more in return, and fail the assignment cause "The array wasn't working"
its php
@wheat plume PHP is bae
php is 💩
🔪
Which works in both ways because bae is poop in danish 😛
LEL
but, tbf, havent touched php in 10ish years
same.
It was all the rage back in the day when WoW was in its prime and everyone used PHPbb and such to have their clan forums and such.
Funniest word I ever heard is poepje
Apparently in dutch calling someone poepje is calling them a "little shit" while also expressing affection
How does that work I have no clue
omfh
In a nutshell - A way to organise programming applications in a ... err... logical sense.
model*
Lots of modularity, keeping things separate in layers et cetera.
i threw most of my study books out, terribly outdated
the word diagram is there so many times, that its not sounding like a real word anymore
and just D I A G R A M at the very top
everything inherits from diagram
Indeed
Not that im aware of, but it completely watchable
i got a download of all stargates, and sure, season 1 - 6 is not HD. but it does just fine
(can't stream it legally anywhere in NL)
when she gives you c# code
doesnt realise its not Java
leaves the call for 5 minutes so you all can run the code and see what it is meant to do
code doesnt run cause its c#
meh, should be an easy port, as they are the same language :p
c# = microsoft java + too many FUCKIG DATA TYPES
I use MicroBrains IntelliC to code my apps in Java#
arm is now shit
because nvidia has decided to take over everything and make linux a pain in the ass
Join the resistance and use LEG™️ instead! For greater leaps than your arms could ever make!

what if i wanna use DIC®
because nvidia has decided to take over everything and make linux a pain in the ass
@plush summit When wasn't it a pain in the ass?
Would be interesting to know how would apple and google look today if google did not decide to make android that similar, maybe with help of Schmidt.
The thing is that at first this companies did not see each other as competitors, google founders even wanted Steve Jobs to become CEO, and apple offered google few employees, as Google was at start just software based, and google co founders and Jobs were friends.
What is B460?
Why is B460 being talked about?
Ahh
Intel shit
I thought B450 was refreshed to B460 or something
That is one part where I don’t like amds decision to just copy the names
Sure call them R3/5/7/9 etc but having sich similar board names ist just unnecessary confusion
But speaking of intel, looks like rocket lake is not coming this year anymore but rather Q2 2021
Sorry, they said 2020 launch, so Q6 2020
Intel started that fight iirc.
I think amd started it with something so intel had to skip a generation to not have the exact same name?
Could be wrong but that’s what I remember
That was AMD stealing from Intel
I mean "stealing" is not really exact
More like "adjusting" their naming scheme to reflect their performance grade
The motherboard naming scheme is a clusterfuck
So are GPUs
Yes making it easy is fair, trademarks I already posted about it, I like it for their CPU’s, not how they have done it with boards
It makes sense from a business perspective. AMD was mostly wiped out from the minds in the cpu space, they needed to have a naming scheme familiar with intel.
You can make it similar without having it be basically the same so the other one needs to change/skip something

$1000 power button, here we go.

@pale sigil iPad Air 😄
Looking at either an old Mini 2/3 or an iPad Gen 3/4
Sure as heck used to be.
It is cheaper than pro 😄
oh?
That was a low priority emergency I guess 😄
Just give it a few years callum
rip
Windows?
I -hate- browsing Aliexpress and co.
Actual specs are missing 99% of the time 😄
Refresh rate? Who needs to know that.
And on the few that actually state it... 25ms

i dont think i even took a look at ali express
crts make some weird high pitched noise that irritates me
That viewsonic elite xg 270 is apparently as close to crt as you can get with an ips panel
crt master race
@prisma crag The CRT in my Macintosh Classic is dead. And it makes zero sense to find a working one 😄
GaMeRs ChOiCe
Don't mind higher resolutions. But it has to be 4:3 and 8"
Any bigger physically and it wouldn't fit.
iPad LCDs are just a fraction too big (9,7") except for the minis - which have their own issues.
https://videocardz.com/newz/intel-rocket-lake-s-500-series-motherboards-roadmap-leaked anyone waiting for HEDT intel upgrade? Wait a lot longer
Threadripper really caught them offguard if there is nothing till 10nm coming lmao
I don't think it's just that they got cought off guard, they simply have nothing they can offer that would be competitive with threadripper.
Only thing they could do is compete on price.
However I do think their actual production costs per cpu are a lot higher as well.
Yeah cause they do monolith as opposed to chiplet yeah?
Also because of the performance per watt of their 14nm process. Sure rocket lake may improve that a bit but end of the day there is only so much power the chips can pull.
No they 100% got caught off guard, threadripper from my knowledge was an idea one team had randomly like a month before launch and pushed it, so there was literally not even time for it to get leaked to intel as it wasn’t even planned
Well I mean yeah. They had the lead for so long and they havent used it to really crush amd like they could have
First gen threadripper but we are quite some time away from that.
They still would have faced the same problem if they did see it comming though
see you in a few years on that 14nm+++++++++++++++
Mhh no i think they could’ve at least had a better start to mitigate the impact TR had so it wouldn’t run away like it does now
Don’t think we would see more cores or anything just a better strategy than skylake-X was

enable TRIM for ssd or nah?
Manjaro Linux is well pre-configured by default but there are still things you can do after installing Manjaro to improve your user experience. These are my 10 Things to do first in Manjaro.
I applied these 10 things in my Manjaro with Plasma 5 which I reviewed in this video ...
It has a lot of notes which pretty much end up as: data loss if done incorrectly
Also not all ssd's support trim..
surely a "gaming" NVME ssd will support it? :P
they actually advertise this ssd for gaming...
My nvme ssd does support it but havent done anything with it.
If bits fail just move on to the unused bits works fine in EEPROM so SSDs should work the same principle or i will call the CEO of SSDs to be angry and tell that EEPROMS are better
lsblk --discard
can be used to check for trim support
if the DISC-GRAN and DISC-MAX are not zero it has trim support
if you force trim on a non-trim device it will work.. just the data will end up missing
If you want maximum performance it is bloat
ISA bus?
no idea what that is
that is 80's 90's era shit
before pcie and pci
do I want to allow it to generate this ?
no idea....
I hit enter at the default options for each thing
they all default to yes except one of them
amd family 17h seems correct atleast. seems to be the amd chipset cpu sensor
yeah
ytop
it has thermal monitoring
and is a tui
oh lol, nvme ssd has a thermal sensor that I can read apparently
this fan speed control arch wiki page is confusing me
using lm-sensors?
is the kernel not handling it correctly already?
fans seem to be running always fast
odd, cpu load in check?
hm?
cpu not at 80% load somehow
how much?
the high usage is from start up and settles to few precents when idling?
moving a windows around makes the cpu spike
doing nothing makes it settle to few precent or not?
ohh ok. mine is at 1% currenly. 0.5% for webcontent ree
That should be normal. What does the CPU sensor read?
maybe the sensor is fucked and reads insane values.. they are resistors afterall (cheapos atleas)
I added a lil cpu usage widget
playing youtube video in chrome and typing this, it getrs to 12%
I dont track it other than having ytop on one of my monitors
ytop
yes
wow
top is an old one
pretty much process handling (killing, freezing, viewing)
htop added more functions
oh ytop got deprecated last month
It stays on this screen for almost a minute sometimes when I shut down the computer
try removing that thing it mentions on the screen, "arch" sounds like maleware
That means that it expects an interrupt handler but none was given
interrupts are pretty much: drop everything and do this now. context switch even outside the OS systicks
atleast if they are hardware interrupts
software can be more nicer by waiting for a systick
It also allows for Priority Inversion which is even more of a headache
so what can I do to make it shut down as fast as possible?
the last line says something about the nvme drive
shutdown -h now maybe?
I use sudo runit-init 0
actually dont know what -h does I just know it shuts down my vm and thats what I need lul
or dmenu which i have a script for the handle the shutdown, reboot, sleep, lock etc
I put the application style back to breeze but its still using kvantum
guess im doing the right thing and not causing any damage with what im doing then :p
shutdown does its job by signalling the init process, asking it to change the runlevel. Runlevel 0 is used to halt the system, runlevel 6 is used to reboot the system, and runlevel 1 is used to put the system into a state where administrative tasks can be performed (single-user mode). Runlevel 1 is the default, unless the -h or -r options are specified.
it pretty much goes past the init process and completely kills and shutdowns the system itself
yup sounds like what I want
it pretty much forces all cpu instructions to stop
forced stop
Good for administrative control. when you want to show who owns the os
So sometimes
For no reason
This os tells it to go into run level 1 when you tell it to shut down?
And that's why it waits there for a minute or so
It tells systemD to shutdown by signalling
but systemd is too busy with making security risks to notice
Huehuehue... MSI scalping consumers 😄
what do they do now
One of their subsidiaries were basically selling 3080s at scalper prices.
Subsidiaries are by definition part of the main company 😛
And they were given access to MSIs main stock.
Not enough shell companies used then.. shame on you MSI. get more legal fuckerery to avoid this

then again leave it to the chinese to try to scam an extra $1500?
MSI are Taiwanese.
MSI is free to sell the cards at whatever price they want, I really don't mind this practice personally.
taiwan, you mean china?
I mean Taiwan. :3
Republic of china
there's something that handles the pricing
i don't think they just go off of demand
because if they did all the 3080s would be going for over a thousand dollars
and they'd still be bought out
MSI is free to sell the cards at whatever price they want, I really don't mind this practice personally.
@thick elk Sure. The real trouble is that the subsidiary were basically leeching off of stock going to suppliers who already had orders going.
No.. you confuse the legal system enough that the original owner gets obscured enough that you cannot link them together definitatively but the money wont care. it will go to the obscured client. Saves on taxes and lawsuits
That's fair, taking away from already placed orders is bad.
Still waiting for an actual confirmation of my TUF order. Apparently the backorders are in the couple thousands here.
If however they decided, from the getgo, you know what let's just sell our cards for $1000 in the at launch I would be fine with that.
I definitely wouldn't have 😄
for each 3080 to have been purchased by someone, with zero backorder
I paid roughly 900$ - MSRP for the FE.
i didn't want to wait but now i'm waiting for whatever amd manages to shit out
sounds like you're a yuro
Yup.
you know
it's funny
i can get a 3900 hundreds cheaper than you guys
but if i want to have that hosted in a server in a datacenter
it's like 200% more expensive in murica
shame really
Socialism isn't cheap, comrade 😄
While the hardworking laborour is working without his graphic cards the bots are buying all the cards for just being lucky to have his 82381th preorder request accepted before the working plebs can even blink!
Pirces in europe for cpu's are not that bad, at least were I live, it's just that 21% vat does make it more expensive.
i don't want to colocate
frankly i only need a handful of really powerful cores at any given moment
so i don't mind all the fuckery that comes with the gray area between a vps and dedicated server
Lets annex some factory while reading das kapital with the bro's
Anti botting has begun for real here. They're limiting orders, and cancelling orders with multiple orders for the same address. 😄
networking is just expensive here
electricity doesn't come cheap either
commiefornia
15 cents a kwh
(North?) Germany has to pay sometimes to deliver their power, if i remember
most of it is taxes lol
companies do have to pay for apparent power, while consumers dont
Lets nuke reno to see if nuclear physics still work
just like i test gravity sometimes
Anyway low taxes on power usage is one reason there are a lot of datacenters in the Netherlands.
us govt loves wasting money
It’s crazy when a company gets caught accidentally like this
It almost never happens
These news are honestly so spicy and fun
So many pissed 3080 enthusiasts about to rise up
i think there's some projecting in there
mostly people who couldn't buy the 3080 or amd buttfuckers
Probly
Of course, there's profit to be made when people are willing to pay scalper prices for some reason
Your first look at PS5's internal components* that will power the next generation of amazing games.

why did the playstation logo sneeze
sigh
i get a feeling the s in ps5 stands for ssd

Don't worry about that, by the end of the generation it will just be one indie title.
"We like python"

yea can see the PS5 pro with 2TB of storage
at least the series X has expandable storage
.. you know you can use normal ssds they vetted in the ps5?
you can upgrade the ps5 storage
yes, you dont replace it, you can add one
where
PS5 storage will be expandable with off-the-shelf SSD
But these will need to be PCIe 4.0 SSDs and be certified by Sony
yes
so effectively no price difference
that is all information we got in march from the first tech talk already
prices for xbox storage have been reasonable
actually
a bit more expensive than usual
but not extremely
also when will people get that it is not just about cpu power or TFLOPS
if it were a normal ssd maybe, a mass produced product fit for one thing? idk I feel like they should've been able to get that cheaper

yeah gl with that
Like?
It aims to focus on 1440p which imo is a sweet spot
If what they claim is true it’s great
1440p is never GPU bound?
It’s great
series X is the better model

Here we go again.

Taking bets - Crappy OEM components again? 😄

When nzxt gonna give that free pc to twomad
I wish some of the other manufacturers would copy it without the proprietary connectors.
Just to shut them up 😄
releasing intel systems the day before AMD's next launch
When nzxt gonna give that free pc to twomad
@reef tundra He has two or more systems. I doubt he needs more 😛
But it broken
"broken"
The dude is about as IT literate as a boomer 😄
It's probably a really simple thing.
Besides - Linus gave him a swanky new pc
dude, that aint the boomer mentality luke smith instilled
what the fuck
holes == better
yae
sounds very reliable
no holes = no cooling at all
I mean its just a 3d render not necessarily an actual product
not like passively cooling with aluminum chunks is already not so great
for high end boards
If there is a hole it means they removed the useless material
weird how they are so proud of cam
the renders with covers have holes
their software is a joke
Howso?
230 USD msrp
not even stuffed with usb ports
3 usb 3 ports
What the fuck. I've got like 6 USB3 ports. Two 3.1 and I think 2 usb 2
great motherboard
Who needs that much USB. Honestly xD
also why the usb-c port so exposed?
i got like 8 ports total and they're all used
I have 4-5 ports in use pretty much all the time
Yep
seems like they just did that last second or the cnc router fucked up
or usb-c was an afterthought
yeah it's cheaper to just make A-holes 😂
@digital cliff Most likely just a re-used plate from another board from the OEM.
Besides - Linus gave him a swanky new pc
@reef patrol worse PC than the one he had already :')
But that would be intelectual property theft
at that pricepoint
I assume Linus fixed up his existing PC.
he might have later but not in the video
you can get this
or this
for an IO
completely disregarding the whoel rest of the board
That's like... three times more USB than I need 😄
I always think in lines of motherboards I buy for work. here it's 3 display connectors or a big fat nope from me.
?
They be saving bank by skimming on the connectors costing like 10-15 cents
why do you want 3 display connectors on a high end plattform
i have heard the n7 z490 only as 4layer pcb
It's just what my mind jumps to, of course you don't need them on high end z490 mobo's
CPU can create a kernelmode buffer to create graphics.. or the internal gpu
The N7 Z490 includes WiFi 6 connectivity and utilizes all PCI express lanes available from the CPU and chipset so everything works as intended.
wat

Imagine using all 60 lanes
for wifi
from the cpu alone
that is weird
However shit CAM may be, I am sure Gigabyte makes worse software.
Oh yeah. CAM is bounds better than mobo software.
ehhhhhh
chipset makes their own pcie lanes from the lanes it has to the cpu
cam is required if you have nzxt hardware though
CAM is a huge pile of dogshit
well, for aios at least
but asus has that extra spice
to make software as bad as humanly possible
CAM is a huge pile of dogshit
@old marlin Which says more about the mobo manufacturer software than NZXT.
motherboard software is barely used
did they pick the worst asrock motherboard as a base or what
Why they be hating on cam. I like my cam shaft in the car makes it go foward
asrock has decent motherboards
but this looks like shit
its a modified asrock/asus layout so u dont instantly feel like its asus/asrock
to be worse than CAM you have to either be fundamentally broken
or just be COMPLETE dogshit
Like intel
have u seen the code i write yama

Gigabyte software simply will not work for anyone at some point.
Their rgb software got a weird random downgrade. Sure it doesnt kill your cpu but it certainly is very bad.
Although the N7 Z490 is NZXT's latest motherboard on the market, the ASRock OEM does the heavy lifting regarding the firmware, with all the hallmarks of an ASRock BIOS, with a custom NZXT GUI. The interface includes a black background with grey and white text, with some vibrant purple accentuation.
Yes the goto is my favorite command, it makes my dogshit coding working

idk works fine with c
I choose my mobo cus the socket matched and it is white
200 fucking megabytes for fan speed software
Hot take all these "fan control RGB OOOH" softwares are dogshit change my mind
meanwhile fl studio: https://up.hw.gl/8lGV5A1Cqk.png
Allocated ram is not wasted tam
like if theyd just write software in c,c++ or c# even
the ram management would be tons better
Discord: succccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccc memory
Because it is a chrome tab
thats why chrome, electron and chromium suck
just write a good piece of software insteadof just using webbrowser to render them
like fuck, if you REALLY want your app to be a web page
use some lightweight chromium-based library
doesnt exist lol
Lightweight and Chromium don't go together
pretty sure there was one
Chromium is performant due to its heavyweight
u could use node-canvas and handlebars tho
Anyway RGB-Fusion 2.0 is absolute garbage: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YMdOpp1pZus
RGB Fusion 2.0 went from slightly better to being pretty bad again. (Or "still" for some of you.) Gigabyte really needs to stabilize their motherboard RGB Lighting software. Or... maybe they could consider a partnership... Check out our website! https://www.hwhound.com/

@fair gull what do you mean you don't need a library that compares strings???
People haven't aeen the worst yet though lol
yes
cause its easier to replace a module with exported interfaces
that changes what "equal" means
Alphacool fancontroller
than rewriting all equality checks
Morty nuke us all mortis we need to die mortis
88k downloads definitely suggests it's not just enterprise code though
Just compare the pointers and return true or false based on that
its used by some enterprise grade packages
Only controllable with an app i would have expected as a result from a middleschool project
each dependencies is a new download
since the module recursively installs needed modules
The issue for me with all those modules is that you suddenly add a lot of points of failure / potential issues.
i mean worse yet is this languaged called PHP: Hypertext Preprocessor
Job assurance
i hate php
but i have to use it
and usually i just abuse it to include headers in all webpages
and php hates you back sweety :)
@fair gull my brother still has that alphacool fancontroller

i really wanna convert to razor/asp.net
But with a slider
the slider makes it a controller
Use c instead its like assembly but doesnt want to seppaku immiatly

plus in c its way too much work to build a webserver being able to run on any os

when building an AUR package....
Imagine using gentoo
sounds like linux
Normally the vast majority of packages are precompiled, on Gentoo you need to build almost everything from source.
Nice and all that you can change a lot of compilation flags and optimizations but not something for normal desktop use.
Interestingly enough Chrome-OS is build on gentoo, making gentoo the most popular distro in desktop space.
Runnig gentoo for a while teaches you alot about linux systems.
Never again will i run gentoo :p
Just plain Ubuntu will do just fine
I installed it once but never really used it, compiling was just too much a hassle, Also wanted to run systemd for some reason (not fun either)
On gentoo that is
sounds like linux
@ashen spindle sounds like Gentoo
The aur also builds from source often
The aur is pretty much a file that tells where to download and compile the package.
yeah I just stick with ubunut, my stuff runs on it, the VM runs fine and I can easily google commands I need and find results lmao
For a lot of packages there are also binaries.
I usually just grab binaries if they are available even on aur.
That is litterly what the buildfile automates
you can even add non-packages to the pacman
allows you to manage it more easyly
Craigslist is sort of badass sometimes
I created my own PKGBUILD once or twice, never added it to AUR though.
nice, what socket is that
For binaries it still can automatically get the latest version which is still nice.
Seems server grade pcb
2011-V2
rip the xeon pentium
I'm building it as a workstation.
Xeons are a meme btw. pretty much aliexpress and fanboys thinking that xeon is always better than amd cus amd sux loll. ending up with some out of date xeon pentium from 2005 with no level 3 cache and burning cpu
Eh, Sandy Bridge are still pretty competitive
For gaming I've seen some correlation with that, the 2009~2011 Westmere/Nahalem (x5000 etc) chips hit the point where they're bottlenecks on anything over an RTX1660
So sadly they're in the "I guess they'll be a good match for someone to browse Facebook" category of salvage
Some games are more cpu bound than others. and some dont even multithread/multicore so for those game single core performance is all that matters. Servers love more cores as that means more connections at the same time
The real advantage to Xeons is if you have the chops for it they're ludicrously cheap.
cus you can write them off in one year
And E-recycling. Server farms dump CPUs and memory by the truckload. Universities do the same with Workstations from HP, Lenovo, and Dell
Because they are on paper worth 0 within a year
so why not sell them and make infinite more money than they are worth on paper
Less than nothing, it costs more to run them watt-to-cycle wise than the new shit so you lose money keeping them.
Also they don't even sell them, they pay people to take them with stuff like toner cartridges and batteries and write it off as e-waste.
That is the variable cost, depreciation applies to the base 'fixed' costs
And then someone with a warehouse stockpiles it and makes more money selling it for cheap as hell, and someone like me repurposes it
Technically the computer of one year old contributes 0dollars to the company value
Oh yeah, that
yea, the depriciation
tax write off
which is one year
doubt that servers are updated && upgraded yearly
But yeah, I've been getting people into t5610's for schooling and working from home for 120~200$ and still making 20$/hr after for what I put into them after material
Saves them 400$ on an i3 rig from best buy for a machine that runs better
guy that repaired windshield damage on my moms car wanted to convince her that her wipers needed replacement.
bitch, i replaced those myself 2 months ago when i drove it.
They wipe => they work
it was raining today
even my mom said she didnt have any issues with them while driving there
guy also said he "disinfected all surfaces he touched"
as he just got out of the car literal seconds after he parked it outside the garage.
*with wd-40
i mean my mom dont really care about that disinfection of the surface stuff
but still really bold of him.
Garages are known to be scummy
guy literally just had like two containers welded together on a parking lot
and is part of some big "chain" for window damage repairs
he also only found one of the two damaged spots on the windshield.
Small cracks can be filled with some resin large ones need the whole windshild to be replaced
and the front windshield is removable by using the legs and pushing from the inside
pops right out
broken but doesnt need heavy machinery
yeah it's one of these resin services
Thats just a fill and fine sandpaper job
yeah it took like half an hour
me and my mom went into some clothing store in the meantime
autoglass repair, autoglass replace
carglass, yeah
Hardest part is getting the resin in the first place. the stuff itself is just pour, UV lamp/heat and sand it down untill flat and sanding is too fine to see
you can still kind of see where the damage on the windshield was
but as long as it gets my moms car through the inspection on friday, all is good. i guess.
Because they dont care often enough to put a vacuum or pressure on it so bubbles and uneven finish is to be expected. Plus the glass and resin have a slghtly different reflactory index so edges will be hard to make invisible
The most important fact is if it will hold like the old glass would and not crack further acting as nucleation site
¯_(ツ)_/¯
it's my mom cars to be fair
so i dont really care that much
i probably would look into a replacement windshield first before
but i assume those are super expensive to a degree
They expensive
Its custom large multilayered glass, polymer, fiber, etc part. That is never cheap
Also good to know is that the door windows are made differently compared to the windshield and have their weakspot on the edges. Hardend glass is known to shadder spotaniously when the edge is just slightly touched.
my front windshield window glass apparently is about 220€
tomorrow not today for ryzen
idk
you want them to hold an announcement nobody knows of so everyone misses it?
nah i just think it's hilarious
Can't wait to see how much they're gonna talk about the competition
and i'm mostly talking about the entire sequence before this
fuckin lighting up r*ddit
I mean, not as bad as nvidia with their 21 days thing
i dunno. hard to beat the uh
I really dont care about reddit posts, I go to reddit to make fun of people using reddit if at all
oh yeah in the past they were definitely worse, "poor volta" "jebaited" etc.
the product should speak for itself
as much as I'd like to see 0 marketing, I can understand them needing to have it to sell stuff :p
and so far I'd say amd did the least marketing while probably having the best products out of the big 3 lul
eh it's mostly the fault of the consumer that companies spend so much on marketing
wow linus lied to us about the 3090 being a gaming gpu!
like intel just "announced" rocket lake a day before zen3 release despite it coming Q2 2021
I'd say amd telling you a month early that they will show zen3 is quite tame in comparison there
what's the last hurdle for ryzen
uncore clock?
i'd like to use some 4000+ mt ram without getting punished for it
well we will see higher IF clocks
Latency is the biggest weakpoint in general
zen 2 helped here with more cache but gaming is generally a very latency sensitive application.
So lower latency higher clock speed should be the key.
Higher IF clocks would help here
unified CCX also helps
we will see lower latency, but we will need to wait to zen4 for really low latency, when they supposedly go to a monolithic design for non server market again
also, relevant article : https://www.anandtech.com/show/16143/insights-into-ddr5-subtimings-and-latencies
yea latency has been pretty much constent for quite some time
compare the latencies, you only actually get more from higher clocks if you get tight timings with it
would be nice for ddr5 to come out already
Not really prices go up, early ddr5 will not have much of an advantage
same again, read the article and look at ddr5 latencies :p
for gaming it wont change anything for a while
other applications that use actual transfer bandwidth sure
It will help with gaming (on a IGP)
:p fair point I guess
wait lmao is this for real
the rocket lake announcement isnt even on an intel site, its a medium post
LMAO
3/4 marketing fluff and one sentence of info
wow
Sounds about right
commitment to gaming
I mean, I guess intel really is cutting costs if they cant host a page long pdf announcing a product on their own site anymore
oh no no no no no no
That Avengers contract really hurt them financially.
lmao
i've read parking tickets more interesting than that
Hello, we intel, giv money
I know what I’m getting
Ye 😦

but that means you wouldn't get your card till like mid/end of november at least
bc my current plan is getting an amd one if nothing major is wrong with it
My watercooling stuff for it ships late Oct, so... Nov isn't far off from being able to use it anyhow 😄
ah, here we have close up views of that nzxt motherboard https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-dr3HkdPLgc

so the advanced ones of the nvidia 30xx series comes end of this year?
Maybe - I kind of doubt it.
Same chip, just more VRAM
So they'd be cutting into existing products.
i need new gpu for cp77 though
do you need it for launch or for when it's playable
Don't we all. If I get a confirmation for my order before it comes out, I'll definitely shelf the game till then.
Might as well see RTX for real 😄
it's also more of a "we got the bigger schlong" move since AMD is supposedly having 16GB variants
the 20gb is barely mattering for games, unless you do like heavy skyrim modding
I just want DLSS 😦
Which is why I’m very no going to AMD
I’d only go amd if it’s significant
i kinda wanna play right from launch
the only bug i ever caught upon a game launch was doc mitchells exorcism move
yeah I'd prefer non-proprietary upscaling over dlss trying to sell you something(that is still cool), as the second coming of cuda cores
then I take it you didn't play witcher 3 sarah lul
If I can get higher FPS without losing noticeable quality am happy
I almost avoid all game launches now
It wasn’t actually me this time

I think mansen is trying to have his channel dominate

I'm fine with this :p

Thanks to Disappearing Inc...
but does it have minecraft though?
I downloaded the latest bios, I assume its not the version I have already? im not too sure what version bios I have
oh shit
thats the bios for the model without wifi, need to get the right one
Fascinating... Had issues with my internet stalling for a few seconds constantly. Figured it was a cat vs cable thing.
Changed from Google to Cloudflare DNS last night... gone!
Should I increase the voltage to ram? Cause I set it to run at 3200MHz
does it run without changing it
you got 3200 ram right?
so just enable the xmp profile
How
in the bios
look for it idk
XMP might be called AMP on amd boards
dont use the search funktion and look with your eyes
APM?
urghh ofc they need to constantly change the names
Could be some big outage somewhere in the network infrastructure (mostly ddos attacks)
Chaging to another dns provider can help here because dns traffic is routed differently.
I have seen the same in the past.
In my case it seems a bit unlikely, since we're talking like a year at this point 😄
what gpu is that?
2070 super
noice
this was build when rtx 30 was still rumors
Not bad. Using a 240 rad looks a bit silly in the Dynamic though 😄
ik but that was their choice
Also... clearly visible corsair sticker in the front
cant remove shit from rads
No intake fans?
and cramming it in to the left was weird
It's a sticker. I mean...you literally CAN 😄
no company policy
im only allowed to peel of the plastic stuff
well its not about voiding the wareanty
BUT we did have some nut cases that complained about stickers not being in the expected locations
prob more about permanently altering the product?
so we just arent allowed to move them
@old marlin more or less
its basically some idiots ruining it for everyone else
have a friend that works at a retailer in paris and does a lot of builds for customers
the choices some people make
well i have to fix tons of builds before even making an offer
liek specifically asking to put their air cooled gpu in a vertical slot
choking it at the glass panel
usually wrong fan combinations with corsair hubs and shit
lol
thats what i get to fix
Well consider this, if you can't manage to build your own pc, you are probably also not very good at picking the parts.
yea
also i dread custom builds cause most come here with a config made on the mifcom website
some are so "smart" they crop out the top and bottom
LDLC has an online configurator at least
In this particular case not adding aditional case fans is pretty questionable.
and even good powerupllies
wonder how fast you would've fixed the error with my build when I build it first, the cpu died on me on day one
mifcom also has a configurator but its shit
while it makes the coolers and psus fit
it doesnt even know how many fans fit in a case
was pretty surprised to find out that they went to seasonic to get powersupplies and offer basically only those in their prebuilts
just so people don't get shit psus
someone wanted 12fans in a 6fan case

fan stacking is fun
how the shit would i do that?
just put 2 on every slot
double team em?
yes
