When do you guys except 4K 240hz monitors to come out? DP2.0 with UHBR 20 has enough bandwidth for 4K 240hz 10bpc.
LG is able to produce 1440p 240hz this year with nano IPS so maybe it will come as soon as next year 👀 . (But can be more, just hope 😄)
There will be advantage, although you will be not able to max out monitor when it comes out, you will be able to - watch films and play open world at 4K, downscale res to 1080p and play compet games at 240hz. All on one monitor, for maybe 600-800$ (if nano ips 27”)
And than, you will also have monitor that will last you a lot, and will maybe go with ur new rig even 5 years later or more, when GPUs are finally capable of running it. 😄

@prisma crag It is panel from LG, that uses nano IPS technology. There are more sites (some not associated with eve) talking about this panel. Last year, LG’s IPS panel was able to go to 1.6 ms response time, so I think it is possible that this panel will have 4ms.
Also, 4K monitor uses same panel as LG gl950.

Push them further, and overshoot becomes too much of an issue
That's enough for 144Hz, 165 (why that silly number?) if you push it

the while loop is just trying to make /tmp/increment.lock every 0.0001 until it succeeds
it's piping the error output to /dev/null so you dont see it
then it's incrementing a local variable by 1 and then removing /tmp/increment.lock
really crude way to do it IMHO
not really sure what the purpose is out of context (obviously something else is calling this script) but it makes no sense that it's making a directory only to remove it after incrementing
