fair gull
#

i can even switch between all the subtitles and audio tracks

#

idk why id need more

zenith sonnet
#

It appears that someone is still updating it, so I dunno where that info came from

fair gull
#

maybe cause its 11 years old

#

but not updated in 2years

#

which is info found on the official mpchc website

zenith sonnet
#

mpv is 2.9 MiB, MPC-HC is 15.3 MiB

#

Looks like MPC is the one with all the bloat

fair gull
#

weird the only prebuild i can download is 30mb

#

and a 7z

#

weird

zenith sonnet
#

I got the size from Wikipedia

fair gull
#

ah yes the most trustable source

#

the mpv exe is 58mb

#

my entire mpchc install folder is 47mb

zenith sonnet
#

Size Source code: 2.9 MB (tar.gz)

fair gull
#

source != actual exe

zenith sonnet
#

Like it matters anyway, either is tiny by today's standards

fair gull
#

ah before it was "mpchc seems to be bloated" now its "who cares anyway"

#

i smell a big fat bias

#

mpv is 80mb in total with everything

#

so almost twice as heavy

zenith sonnet
#

The bloat argument came from you
I don't care

fair gull
#

i just said the dl is 3times as large

#

no mention of bloat

zenith sonnet
#

and prob has an infinite amount of shit i will not need

#

What else would that mean?

fair gull
#

its to tell you that a normal user wont need all the extra shit you want from a dumb video player

#

why not invest into a cinema reel to reel player

#

and a basement for an actual cinema room

zenith sonnet
#

Either has a lot of shit I'll never need.
I've used both and preferred mpv. Only downside is that it's a little more difficult to use if you don't get built with a GUI for it.

#

Felt more responsive, IQ seemed slightly better, and it was easier to set up all in all.

wheat plume
#

Found a new terminal emulator to use!!

wheat plume
#

Do it

#

It ran a command in 14 seconds that the other terminal took 2 minutes to do

zenith sonnet
#

1% lows in Afterburner are utterly useless

#

They don't seem to trim the data

ashen spindle
#

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aupKGm8MGAU hm looks like we might have a 3rd ram option for top-ram components if d-dies stays consistent

So I actually destroyed the win10 install when doing the push for 50XX MHz. That's why it stopped booting.

#

and died after 2 months

ashen spindle
#

?

fair gull
#

thats like double the clock isnt it

ashen spindle
#

uh yea and?

fair gull
#

i cant imagine the components doing that for super long

ashen spindle
#

uhh you do know that stuff like 4000mhz or even higher is something you can buy with normal warranty?

fair gull
#

yes but those are designed to run that fast

ashen spindle
#

no they are just tested if it works

#

its the same chips they buy

fair gull
#

source

ashen spindle
#

look at the catalogue of any ddr4 manufacturer, they don't sell higher than jedec

#

corsair etc. just bin them

#

if you need high voltage then yes you run into that issue but those chips just get put at lower voltage in slower kits

fair gull
#

thats like saying "look at intel they dont sell 6ghz cpus yet i run mine that fast" and then just not really mentioning the toll it takes on the hardware

#

just because smth can run that fast does not mean its designed to

#

same for the 4000 kits

ashen spindle
#

but overclocking cpu's is kinda the same, if you don't increase the voltage it doesn't really matter because higher voltage is what degrades silicon faster, higher usage not really

#

its not like you get these 6ghz at stock vcore

#

ddr4 is safe till like 2volt and iirc most kits run below 1.5 or 1.2 even if youre at 2xxx speeds

wheat plume
zenith sonnet
#

You can't run DDR4 at 2V...
For B-die 1.5-1.55V is the limit for longevity

ashen spindle
#

ah maybe it was 2v at LN2, not sure, I heard 2v in regards to ram somewhere

ashen spindle
#

ah ye he was talking about 2-2.1 on b die for benchmakring, 1.6 for daily you're right

zenith sonnet
#

2V LN2 sounds reasonable

#

Also 5GHz LN2 sounds reasonable

ashen spindle
#

that 5ghz ram I linked was on air

zenith sonnet
#

That's crazy

ashen spindle
#

not really, because its not stable but can be validated

#

but means it could be used for lower speeds at stable timings

zenith sonnet
#

Ah, I was a little off as far as the records are concerned

#

~6GHz is record
5.1 was for Zen 2, I think

ashen spindle
#

but if a random 2666 rated kit can do 5 at 1.8V it's quite likely good bins of it can be used for 4.x ghz at safer voltage, so we'd have another good module option

zenith sonnet
#

Iirc D-die can do high clocks, but only at fairly loose timings

#

We'd have to see performance records with it for it to be a good alternative

ashen spindle
#

idk CL24 doesn't seem very loose to me for 5ghz

#

and he loosend up timings to go higher, not for a stable/best result around

zenith sonnet
#

Gotta stay tuned

#

DDR5 isn't long off either

reef patrol
#

Ehhh...

#

It'll definitely be delayed due to the situation in China. And no chipset is slated to use it yet.

zenith sonnet
#

CL24 is pretty loose, though

ashen spindle
#

yes but it's a random stick from ebay rated for only 2666

#

it's just a case of "hey potentially bins of this version can be used for top modules"

zenith sonnet
#

Isn't D-die 'supposed' to be a successor to B-die anyway?

#

Like, more advanced process?

#

Not surprised they needed longer to iron out the process kinks then

ashen spindle
#

wasn't that A die

#

yea that was a die not d die

fickle ore
#

beats noctua d15

reef patrol
#

It's ugly af though

#

Also "4D"

fickle ore
#

dont look inside my case that much so it's def something I'll buy 😄

#

for my next build!

old marlin
#

damn that legit looks worse than a D15

#

also wait like 3 years and noctua will release cooler endgame

#

although, dual tower NH A14x25 could be close to release

zenith sonnet
#

Now put Noctua fans on it

reef patrol
#

I'm curious to see how Corsairs new non RGB D15 like performs.

#

Still haven't gotten it out of box. catte

zenith sonnet
#

Also, need a few more reviews to see if it consistently performs better

#

If it does, then that's awesome

#

And we can expect something even better from Noctua in 1-2 years

reef patrol
#

I mean...they just released black coolers.

#

And they did that because they improved thermals enough for the paint not to do worse than the bare models.

zenith sonnet
#

Is it really painted?

#

I would have expected it to be galvanised

reef patrol
#

Uhhh... Powder coated? I think?

#

I think Linus mentioned it in his review or something.

#

Of that smaller, new super model in the Air vs AIO video

ashen spindle
#

yeah was something like that

sick creek
#

It’s a ceramic coating

pale sigil
#

gotta give them credit, this was funny.

reef patrol
old marlin
#

corsair mice dansgame

reef patrol
#

AND CPU coolers. 😁

old marlin
#

also that is a spy for snowball

#

the CPU coolers of them are alright

#

can't say sht about the aircooler

#

although it is definetley overpriced

#

and has no coldplate

reef patrol
#

Time will definitely tell. Putting it up against my D15 with a 8700K.

old marlin
#

true

#

the only reason I'd want a scimitar would be to make a nutty claw mouse out of it

#

the sidebuttons are too trash though

#

also quality is shit

#

sad that the model o has the highest build quality that comes out of the factory

#

of the mice I know of

reef patrol
#

I don't like it personally. I can't rest my thumb on the side without hitting s button. Two buttons on the side is plenty for me.

old marlin
#

same

#

and the ones on the scimitar feel like on a phone from 2007 or something

reef patrol
#

They're tiny. 😅

old marlin
#

yea

#

and flat

the only "mmo" mouse that doesn't have that is the razer naga trinity

#

actually a decent although heavy mouse

#

and already pretty weight optimized

ashen spindle
#

Got some good recommendations for a cooler for a 3950x? Friend said he’s using a rog ryuo 240 and it‘s not good enough, not too versed in watercooling myself

old marlin
#

oof

#

360mm doesn't perform a lot better

#

280 is similar

#

so either 280 or 360mm if you don't wanna go custom

#

what you get basicalyl is irrelevant

#

all asetek

#

only difference is fans

#

yea

#

for 240mm not really

#

for 280 and 360 surely

#

also depending on the cooler heat distribution can be worse on air coolers

#

teh new corsair cooelr for example

#

no coldplate means your hotspots will be relying on one or two heatpipes

old marlin
#

reminds me @reef patrol you should test the corsair cooler on a higher end ryzen 3000 chip if you have one as well

reef patrol
#

Sorry but no. 😅

old marlin
#

rip

#

it will likely perform abyssmal with the 3950X

#

cause it doesn't sue a coldplate

#

so everything with heatspot that are offcenter will perform worse

#

and since the 3950X is a chiplet design the hotspot is quite far off the center

#

so most of the heat is distributed to 1-3 heatpipes

#

hyper 212 has the same problems with chiplet CPUs

zenith sonnet
#

Wonder how long until we see waterblocks designed for Chiplet CPUs

#

Also, even with a custom loop my 3700X gets hot

#

It's just too high heat density

#

3950X won't fare better

ashen spindle
#

no point, they are all different to make one for all, and it doesnt even really make a difference if it's just a good plate

#

also he has 60C idle on his so might be some other issue

zenith sonnet
#

For comparison:
3700X has a delta of 32°C under load, at ~90W
My VII has a delta of 8°C, at 200W load

#

60°C idle is definitely some issue

#

Reapply the cooler

ashen spindle
#

he did

zenith sonnet
#

Then, run Ryzen Master and see if it idles properly

ashen spindle
#

think he's trying undervolting it a bit and see if that helps

zenith sonnet
#

When the system is idle it shouldn't run more than 1-2 cores at 200-500MHz

#

If it doesn't, some power options are wonky

#

And UV does not help

ashen spindle
#

could also just be a cooler issue, he got a different cooler on the way

zenith sonnet
#

Unless it's a manual OC, you cannot control voltage directly

#

The CPU will sense it gets less voltage, and request more

pale sigil

so expensive and stuff like the back screen being on a table

wheat plume

yup

pale sigil
#

Andjust the idea of folding it

#

freaks me out

wheat plume
#

o?

ashen spindle
#

meh its just like the first time smartphones came out, with the difference that they had trouble getting bending screens to work on time, after a while it'll be a normal potential feature

wheat plume
#

when we find a way to make a material as tough as glass but bendy then it will change folding phones forever

thick elk
#

Personally I would much prefer a small bezel between the two halves over having a phone that is forced to use plastic which I know will scratch pretty fast.
Especially Huawei's solution with the screen folding outwards.

#

ZTE did that on one phone and it looks pretty decent.

old marlin
#

small bezel is shit

#

has been done before is crap

#

no bezel would be possible rn but get any dirt or sand in it and the screen is dead

#

they could maybe put a thin glass layer in/on the plastic to increase hardness on the flat areas at least

thick elk
#

I don't think that would be viable.

#

it also wouldn't protect the most sensitive prone to damage area of the screen

#

From what I have seen dual screen phone's mostly suffered from software issues rather than a flawed concept. Sure having one app fill both screens is not great but it's essentially a dual monitor setup for a phone.

Correct.

And NVMEs are so fast these days, that the change isn't big. Try doing it on a HDD 😄

zenith sonnet

I'm turning off hibernation anyway, though

fickle ore

idk, true boot is often good thing. fast boot and hibernate usually accumulate errors in the OS and most bugs are due to that, "user error" except its windows fault

zenith sonnet

Makes me ultimately wonder if my System is accumulating errors that only come to light when reloading the hiberfile

fickle ore
#

idk why they dont get rid of fast boot and hibernate with now we all have SSD's -.

And the Fast Boot in BIOS just seems to load fewer devices during POST

Shouldn't hotkeys nowadays bind to a specific key on the keyboard, not a specific letter?

#

I've noticed, that most programs I use do it the way I described
Used an entirely custom keyboard layout for a few years, and never had any issues that hotkeys weren't where they were supposed to be
Which also meant, any mnemonism was usually broken

#

I've used Windows, maybe that's why

#

Cause Windows already does it that way

#

And most games use direct key/raw input

#

Most games will bind to the physical keys where WASD would be on a QWERTY keyboard
In config menu's, they display whatever letter Windows translates this key to

#

Met very few exceptions to that rule

any recommnedations for a 1440p VA monitor? gsynch or at least gsynch compatible, 27' ideal but 32 might work too

ashen spindle
#

which I've already done and thus am looking for cross referencing stuff

reef patrol
#

My AOC ticks those boxes except gsync 😞

thick elk
#

I would generally recommend against monitors with the gsync module, as they will be limited if you ever switch of nvidia.
They are changing that with future monitors but older ones I would not recommend. Also the price will probably be such that they are a bad choice anyway.

ashen spindle
#

not for me, work colleague who has 2 980ti's in sli

reef patrol
#

Uh no, qlum? The gsync is a toggle module.

#

It isn't on unless you want it to.

#

They aren't limited though.

#

That's like saying ANY monitor is limited.

#

😄

#

That his cautionary tale is moot.

#

Most high end monitors don't even HAVE dedicated gsync modules. The tech has superceded them.

thick elk
#

The problem I am pointing out is that in the current monitors with gsync modules adaptive sync is locked to just Nvidia. They recently changed that for future monitors but what already exists does not benefit.

reef patrol
#

No?

#

It's all software at this point

#

They have their own syncs 😁

#

Not that most people use or need either. Gsync is most effective at low FPS. Which still doesn't harmonize with the cost of a 144-240hz monitor setup.

ashen spindle
#

still helps against tearing even at higher fps etc.

#

though the main point I was looking at was VA and 1440p, not high refresh rate

reef patrol
#

It doesn't work any better than vsync though to be honest.

#

At those frame rates***

ashen spindle
#

yes but for input lag its better

reef patrol
#

Input lag is such a buzzword. 😁

ashen spindle
#

its not gigantic differences ofc

reef patrol
#

Not to mention most games offer engine FPS limits these days which eliminate the need for syncing altogether.

#

Not when it's negligible. Unless you're a true pedant. At which point you've already bought that Gsync monitor and nVidia card. catte

ashen spindle
#

yesn't because max fps=refresh rate is not always the ideal setup, at least in games like csgo/tf2

reef patrol
#

Of course it is.

#

Don't confuse opinion with facts. ablobderpyhappy

ashen spindle
#

no there have been people spending way too much time in the source engine, figuring out that stuff like 101 fps for 100hz or exact double max fps of hz is better etc.

reef patrol
#

Besides we kind of went way off track compared to the initial tooic.

#

Lemme know when you've got some high speed footage of that. It'd love to compare.

ashen spindle
#

it's been years since I played tf2 competitively and looked at that, don't know if I could find the old threads again

reef patrol
#

Beside csgoy is a whole other beast. You'll want a 240hz panel and be running the game at something like 800x600 low. If not 4:3

#

Pffft... Keep offering up empty arguments and you'll tire out the other side I guess.

#

Pedantry abound. bcaBoing2

ashen spindle
#

usually I'd agree with mansen, it still confuses me how source works that it's different here

#

part of it is because it plays together with the network, not just rendering alone. that causes these desired fps limits

reef patrol
#

Anyhoo. To return to the original point.

Choosing not to buy a Gsync capable monitor in 2020 on the basis of "you'll be limited" is factually wrong and a tad silly.

Ever since nVidia opened theoretical Gsync support on all monitors, provided circuitry can handle it (spoiler my monitor cannot in spite of being 1440p 144hz) makes all monitors "Gsync" in spirit.

The companies who use dedicated gsync modules as a sales pitch are trying to burn off stock before the market catches on and Gsync becomes a "gamer monitor" expected feature at the lowest price points.

#

Now...I've got pancakes to make. bcaFightFite

ashen spindle
#

ye, anyway, tagging @old marlin as you're the only one I remember talking about monitors a lot here: any suggestion for VA 1440p monitor, 27" preferred, should have gsync or be compatible at least

old marlin
#

why VA though

#

Xeanoa knows more about monitors than I d

ashen spindle
#

dark room, VA should be better for that

old marlin
#

afaik for 1440p the LG UltraGear 27GL850-B should still be king

ashen spindle
#

at least that's what I've been able to find about ips vs va, that the later one offers better contrast for usage in rooms without much light

old marlin
#

IPS though

#

best IPS on the market afaik though

pale sigil
#

IPS is bae

#

and still making TN panels LUL_devcord

old marlin
#

yea that is basically what LG does

#

getting the best thing at every pricepoint

#

some exceptions with asus in the very high end

#

and some alienware mixed in with competitive prices

ashen spindle
#

yea but they mostly just use the same panel as other good monitors and thats why they are good, they dont do anything special

old marlin
#

yea

reef patrol
#

IPS and VA have their strong points and weaknesses.

old marlin
#

dunno if anybody uses the nano-IPS panels atm

#

well yea

#

LGs current IPS panels get rid of most downsides

reef patrol
#

IPS has better colour range, but VA has better contrast and light.

crimson wigeon
#

And that nasty smearing effect when transitioning from blacks

ashen spindle

well guess well try to find something at work tomorrow then, actually surprised how hard that combo is to find even, really thought there would be more va panels now, tftcentral even only has one model they reviewed that fits 16:9 criteria lmao

zenith sonnet

You got that specific monitor?

pale sigil

Oh sorry, you meant the monitor

zenith sonnet

Reason I recommend it anyway is, that it's still the only VRR monitor that has a overdrive setting that covers its whole VRR range

pale sigil

#

27"

great brightness levels

#

270 quid

zenith sonnet
#

Other than specific models with a g-sync module (adaptive overdrive is the only about it that's actually good)

pale sigil
#

mine has overdrive but idk how it works or what it does

zenith sonnet
#

Overdrive reduces pixel response time

#

Most monitors have a few settings, all of which cover some FPS bands best

#

Like, 'Normal' could be good for 60-100Hz, 'Fast' could be good for 120-144Hz, and 'Faster' could be fastest, but introduce so much overshoot that it's literally unusable

pale sigil
#

So what should i be doing

#

xD

zenith sonnet
#

Read a good review about your monitor that tests these settings

#

If in doubt, use 'Normal' for 60 Hz content, and 'Fast' for 144Hz content

pale sigil
#

xD

zenith sonnet
#

@ashen spindle https://www.rtings.com/monitor/reviews/msi/optix-mpg27cq
There are probably more VA than IPS models being released, even for 144Hz WQHD
Thing is, there are very few reviewers that do decent reviews, and they cover at best 10% of the models
That one is one of the best VA monitors out there, it seems. At least for gaming

#

Unfortunately, they don' test overdrive and pixel response very well. Only at max refresh rate, which does not give you anything about it performs with VRR

#

@pale sigil Keep it on normal... extreme might work if you're at 144Hz stable

#

But your monitor might now actually be able to display a frame fully before the next one arrives

ashen spindle
#

@zenith sonnet ye we saw that monitor, but the issue is VRR on nvidia only works on Turing cards, and the system is running 980ti in sli

zenith sonnet

That's sad

#

I think even the good old 7970 can do adaptive sync...

ashen spindle
#

.. we're not talking about the gsynch feature via displazport

#

nvidia finally opend up their cards to use VRR via HDMI on non g-sync monitors, but that is only unlocked for turing

zenith sonnet

Why would you ever use HDMI over DP?

#

The only use for this is TVs that don't have DP

#

And that means you can use VRR on the 980 Ti's

God damn it, Intel, even AMD stopped this shit after the 9590

thick elk
#

Intel actually does not care. Honestly the brand is mostly carried by the i3-9 label not by the actual part number. Maybe the xth gen but that's about it.
With amd / nvidia the number matters a lot more for marketing so doing what intel is doing just doesn't work as well.

#

people who actually think about it will understand it anyway.

zenith sonnet
#

I'm not talking about the model numbers

thick elk
#

Ah though the model numbers are often a point of critique as well.

zenith sonnet
#

Well, intel is using what, 3 systems concurrently now?

#

Anyway, I was talking about the boost blocks

#

And: that TPD is still at base clock...

thick elk
#

Intel makes the turbo with the thought of giving a quick performance boost for things like loading webpages or other Bursty workloads.
Most intel systems do actually work like that and follow the tdp pretty well. Just the niche we care about we just let it turbo for as long as it doesn't overheat. Throwing efficiency out of the window. Your average OEM system won't do that.

zenith sonnet
#

But it's genius for benchmarks

#

And those get you sales

thick elk
#

If that where the case intel would have have it share in sales drop a lot faster than it actually does. OEM systems are still big business and are still a very large portion of sales. This is a case where reputation and perception still reign supreme.

zenith sonnet
#

Yeah, apparently it'll draw 300W+ at 5.3 GHz

#

Good luck with that

thick elk
#

Let's at least hope the pricing is decent

zenith sonnet
#

Maybe they'll slash their consumer CPU prices by 50%, like with HEDT

thick elk
#

I'd say if they keep the current 9900k price which is a little bit above the 3900x it should be fine. Gaming performance is a bit better but you lose 2 cores and you will pay with your electricity bill.

Now I've had to request an RMA from Wooting to have it repaired!! 🤬

It says firmware 1.26.1, serial A01B1929W021H00371 and Wootility version 3.3.3

#

Is this guide still ok to follow for a Wooting Two?

#

Phew! that's a relief!! Working again now. Man that was scary. Guess I won't be trying to get my 360 controller working again - not if I have to go through this rigmarole again. Thanks for your helps!

ashen spindle
#

but in any case you won't break your wooting that easily, I think it's mostly just windows drivers not being as easy to work with that cause potential issues

quaint pilot
#

Well the controller still doesn't work. Would plugging an Xbox One controller in wired work? One came with my Oculus Rift but I've never been able to use it since the dongle doesn't work in Windows 7. Mind you neither does Rift any more.

#

I don't use a controller very often, only for RetroArch.

ashen spindle
#

all I can say is that I have no issues when using my ps4 controller and setting xinput to disabled, didn't have any issues so far with that, but im on win10 not 7

quaint pilot
#

Probably that then. My W2 is slot 1

#

Yeah about that, last time I disabled Xinput everything went to shit.

#

Well I do need to get Windows 10 already so I guess it'll have to wait for another day. Lucky me, Microsoft extended support until September, at least they have in the NHS so I guess that works for me at home too.

#

And since I know I can't completely brick it, I guess I could try Xinput again. Another day though! Thanks everyone.

ashen spindle
#

np and good luck

quaint pilot
#

Well now, ain't that something? Before shutting down for the night I thought I'd try the Xbox One controller again, knowing full well the wireless dongle doesn't work in Windows 7. It installed this time and it also works! And so does the Wooting Two! YIPEE!!

rip unitymedia

ashen spindle
#

?

#

Oh found it, damn

#

Let’s hope nothing does change indeed for me, I like what I got

old marlin
#

probably not for now

#

new gigabit connection from vodafone is 40 euros

#

so twice as expensive as unitymedia apparently

ashen spindle
#

Only have 120 anyway, don’t really need more

old marlin
#

I have 100

#

if I could get more I probably would

zenith mirage
#

so i just bought a 2070, never owned an nvidia card. Are there any hijinks with their drivers? I thought i remember reading that they bundle stuff with them and you have to work around it a bit

#

Am i remembering wrong?

old marlin
#

you can dowload drivers separatly

#

but nvidia tries to force experience onto you

#

which tries to fuck with your settings

zenith mirage
#

so is going through their website and getting the game ready drivers fine?

#

the only part of experience that i think i'd be missing out on is ansel

#

hmmm

old marlin

screenshot tool

zenith mirage
#

yep

#

lets you do some fancy stuff

old marlin
#

I think you still get it, not sure

#

yea like wallhacking in witcher 3 kekww

zenith mirage
#

can take 360 screenshots which you can pan around in

#

although, i think you have to upload them to do that? Not sure

old marlin
#

dunno

zenith mirage
#

guess i'll find out

#

Anyway, if im reading the price chart right here, i just got the card at an all time low

#

for amazon anyway

#

which is quite nice

#

that is from warehouse stock, but my whole PC was build from there so i don't have an issue with that

#

actually yes i was reading it wrong, 2nd lowest price ever. I can live with that

zenith sonnet
#

@zenith mirage TPU got a 'clean installer' for Nvidia drivers that can also enable MSI mode

zenith mirage
#

what is MSI mode?

#

sorry if i'm being dense here FeelsChromosomeMan

#

okay looking at the site, i think i get it. Cheers :))

zenith sonnet
#

Eh, tbh I forgot half of it, but it's good
@fickle ore knows more, lol

#

@zenith mirage Also, VERY IMPORTANT: if you switch brands, use DDU in safe mode to uninstall the old drivers first

zenith mirage
#

aye, was just reading up on that

#

i feel like this is much harder in my mind than it will be in reality

zenith sonnet
#

It really isn't difficult

#

Like 4 clicks

#

You can get a lot of issues with old files that were installed by first or third party software

#

Like black screen issues you hear so so much about atm

#

Blame Windows

feral jolt

Geforce experience is a must have for me now with nvidia freestyle

The sharpening and the details enhancements are great

Everything looks fuzzy without sharpening now

1 click gamma adjustments in game are pretty nice as well

Accidently got the corner of my monitor screen when plugging in my phone charger

The screen goes blank
Noise starts coming from the monitor

Panicks ://

Unplugs the monitor
Plugs back in same issues

#

Then leave it a while
Come back plug in again.
No noise this time

#

Then the screen comes back on too

i used to have a monitor that wouldnt turn on if my room was too cold

a bit concerning that they can't math tho

How so?

they "made" 77 cards and give away pairs?

ashen spindle

they didn't say they are giving away all 77 that way

zenith sonnet

Person A tags Person B who tags Person 3
Do all three get one each, or person B get two?

ashen spindle
#

and there is no person 3 idk where you got that from

zenith sonnet
#

?

ashen spindle
#

a tags b and thats it

reef patrol
#

The worst thing is... it's a reference card.

zenith sonnet
#

C'mon now
B can still tag a third person

ashen spindle
#

okay but that would then mean b retweeted it and independently tagged person C, so B and C would get it, not A

#

yea its more of a collectors item I'd say

#

get it, watercool it, put it on a 2060 or wherever the shroud fits, ez

latent mural
#

calling FE a reference card akin to blower style cards is a stretch, they have power delivery and cooling system as good as any other OEM card

ashen spindle
#

uhhh it's from nvidia using the reference design? also FE/ref has been swapped so many times now and used by both vendors, it's the same thing

i would like to redeem my winning card sir

would be so nice

reef patrol

I need better keycaps for this... bcaForgiveBeg3

old marlin
#

yup

#

and a better mouse KEKW

reef patrol
#

It's actually not bad. Bit heavy but I much prefer this dark core to the scimitar.

#

12 buttons on the side catte

old marlin
#

idk why you'd need so many buttons on a mouse

#

dark core is probably one of the better corsair shapes

#

doesn't say much since most are basically the worst shapes you could imagine

and bad ODM internals

Tried to upgrade ram at work pc, didn’t like 4 ram sticks

#

So we thought maybe bios update helps bc it’s on the release bios still

#

Then we see the msi m flash didn’t find the bios file

#

Took us a while to find out it’s an OEM Board with custom bios so we now send support an email bc the website obviously doesn’t have a bios download part

#

Granted the normal bios should work just fine, but we’d rather play it safe on the work pc

old marlin
#

ye

#

I love it when they do that

#

we once had an "industrial" z170 board

#

which claimed kaby lake support

#

but the bios that they claimed that added it didn't do it
