I also recently had battery troubles and androids build in things to warn what was using battery failed misserably. Turns out it was the mediascanner getting stuck on some files music on my micro-sd, So knowing that it was a pretty easy fix. Still I get annoyed at android getting worse and worse at finding actual batttery drains.

Good thing especially rooted there are a lot of options to work around it.
