I didn't mean to! Was going to pop in my new 9900K. And it failed miserably.
just how :p
Gotta order new tubing and redo entire loop next week.
The water block slammed into it, while I was looking it's screws
The Block is still connected to the loop. So it had a mind of its own.
I'm paying 45$-ish for about 8 down.
sure that includes a landline but still
i fucking hate living half an hour from any even decently sized civilization
i can't even get a fucking cell signal
that's why we have a landline
AT&T provides to my area
probably
i pretty much refuse to call them if i can
I'm paying 56β¬ for 400/50 (phone included)
Germany isn't exactly the holy grail of internet contracts either
i'm paying 62.5 for 500/40 (online TV watching included)
do you have unity media @zenith sonnet ?
unitymedia/kabel deutschland are now all part of vodafone
The irrelevant iPhone 11: Apple will crush Android with services, bundling, and cheap devices
I'm not sure how this guy stays employed by a legit tech news place
Cheap devices
He insists that the iPhone 8 counts
It's either Apple vs Alphabet, or Android vs iOS π€
Apple vs Android makes no sense
@old marlin but Intel is still American, so it will have to stop supplying when it takes effect
I wonder if they'd get fined by the government, but still make enough to keep trading anyway
There was that saying, fines just mean legal for rich people
@old marlin No, the ban was postponed for another 90 days
after intel etc didn't react
Nah, they tried applying for continued supply to Huawei
Like most others, Google, Qualcomm etc.

Customers man.
8700K / 1080 PC came in. Constant bsod. Happened after some lightning strikes.
I open it... USB header plugged into a fan header. I'm surprised it didn't catch on fire.
I uh... I think he had bigger issues. Like not having a functional PC π€
Bsod caused by shorts in the header.
Or so he claims. I bet it was when he mounted his AIO and he didn't connect the dots.
Final tally. New Z370 Mobo and a 8700K
Aren't those cables made to not fit the wrong header?
Also, why would you replace a 8700K with a 8700K?
Because it's better than the 9700K.
You can make it fit apparently. I never tried. π
Intel nixed HT from 9th gen i7s
Also...we have one in stock that we want to get rid of
Arguably better in some cases? :p
Always better! Because I have one...well had I guess.
Suffice to say I hate Intel for nixing HT from i7s. Such a dumb move.
In regards to the customer, at least he didn't break his motherboard @reef patrol :p
Like dropping the aio on the cpu socket you mean?
....yes.
π π
Another customer had a GPU that started a fire.
Cosy BBQ
Never had a fire
I need to start getting parts together, I guess
._.
Maybe I should make an pcpartpicker?
The thing is that most games which are demanding suck anyway
And you can run all the good games on potato PC
Good games run even better on enhanced potatoes
Huh
Enhanced games run better on good potatoes
?
There's plenty of games that don't run a stable 144 FPS
Haha i know
It'll be paired with a amd 290x :D. But as I said, secondary pc for at my parents place
I don't understand. I'm saying any game that is recent and not esports won't run at a stable 144.
That is correct
Some new games struggle to get close to 100fps even if you have a 9900k and 2080ti
idk why people assume if they just buy the most expensive things that everything will run at 144fps stable.
cant belive im saying this
i want some bass gaming headphones....
something to give me a bass kick when shooting etc
and those esports games that do run at 144 on a $3000 PC also typically run at 144 fine on a $1000 PC.
How about no
How about im a screen and a single maker board away from starting on my keyboard o wait i need to get an audio interface too o well close enough
I have a donor keyboard as well as the usb3 hub and the usb2 hub
You don't like my name? :<

π
I dont quite agree there Oshi. As long as you're not pushing for Ultra, you can definitely get 100-140fps stable...at 1440P...with a mere 2080
I should know. Because that's my setup
Finally get a Roku last week and the fucker dies, lol. RIP
expensive? it only cost like 350$
@reef patrol All depends on the game
I haven't seen any UE3 game do that, like, ever, though
I have no issues running most games at Medium/High to get 144fps mostly stable here.
side note i would love a mouse that gives tactile feedback
All mouse buttons give tactile feedback
What else so you want to give feedback?
You can get tactile feedback on mouse movement by using sandpaper as a mouse mat π€
wat @reef patrol ? A lot of games are CPU limited to around 100fps or less. Some even have hard caps at 60 or 100fps
Like The Division 2. Even if you have 2x 2080Ti and a 9900k, you get CPU limited at around 100fps dips at times, IIRC. A lot of games are like that.
I mean you did say 100, to be fair.
but the blanket statement still leaves out the fact that some games are 60fps locked so it's disingenuous to claim people will get 100-144 fine with a 2080
I don't consider having 'stable' 144 FPS unless 1% low are at least 120 FPS and 0.1% lows are at least 100 FPS
And if you're dipping below 60 facing one direction, and 144+ facing the opposite, it's just bad design (I'm looking at you, BL2)
You can usually sacrifice quality if you really want the frames
I get 700 fps in classic wow on max settings with .1% lows around 250 at ultrawide 1440p lol too bad my monitor is only 110hz
you damn smartass
but nice 1440p ultrawide? I'm wanting to get Samsung's 1440p ultrawide
Ya'll need to worry about having the best of the best of the best, less
Here's a 1440p screen just released last week for non-esports (75Hz) only Β£200

They usually have a stamdard barrel power plug
The kind you can easily get a replacement for
And that isn't a proprietary standard that may got dropped in the next few years
Cause it is horrible on laptops
What? The Lenovo plug is the best.
Mmh
It's so sturdy compared to the terrible round ones π
It is a good principle
Problem is the shape
I ALWAYS confuse the when trying to plug in a USB device
And again - Most thin monitors do not use a standard 2 pin plug. The entire PSU is external.
Yea ik
External psu isn't my problem
But that the hardware standart might be dropped
And your only option might be a used one or a chinese clone
Hardware wise the lenovo plug is fine by itself
That is the one thing that doesn't break on their laptops lol
USB-C creases are being ironed out. All monitors and non-gamer laptops USB-C in two years powered.
I doubt it
Well you don't want your monitor's power cable to fall out do you?
Kinda happy about apple running out of gimmicks and having to move onto actually good features, if China must continue to copy them on more affordable products
USB-C charger already on mac book pro's and while they do have a proprietary charging block, you can actually use any USB-C cable unlike uhhh I think it was dell or HP that needed a special USB-C cable
Inb4 nintendo switch exists
Which uses usb c but will break with any non certified plug because nintendo made their own extremely weird charging standard
First I've heard of that - The plug issue that is
But also the new iphone 11 may be "boring" to all the tech youtubers but:
multiple camera image stichting
dual front facing speakers
4x optical zoom
variable refresh rate displays on their watches
good cam app design that we'll probably see in openCam for android by like next week
Or the powerbank that is certified by them that anker makes
Oh the CHARGER. I can believe that. The cable less so π

So gl replacing that when your cat kills it
I just replaced one of my monitors' power brick. Cat bit it in half on the wrong end of it. Other end is standard 2pin π
Nintendo have been fucking me over for years, never bought a product of theirs but every time I'm exposed to one I can't use some cables or data for some absurd proprietary reason and they claim the only fixed is buying their dedicated hardware
You know what i mean
Regressive company
Well
They finally started to look at what their market wants
Maybe the next console will fix that
Damn Mansen your cat is OK?
Cats do that stuff all the time
There's a korean brand 27inch monitor in my home that fucking electrical arcs when unplugging the power cable, it'd be deadly
Parent's have had 3 cats but never known one of chew cables, even though one loved to hide behind the downstairs desktop
My fathers cat exclusively chewed the white apple cables
I mean, lemme fix that grammar
Fucking apple again probably tested their cables in model homes for 10 years before settling that animals like to chew their design of cables which drives cable sales that "can't be blamed" on apple xD
I think it just loved that chewy consistency of them
Which also usually makes the cables die pretty fast

Cat's fine. Hasn't gotten itself hurt...yet
We've begun covering our thinner electronics cables in alu foil. He doesn't like the noise or taste π
He also killed my fast charge cable for my OnePlus. I'm more annoyed by that one. Been too lazy to order a new one
"Cats cause a new wave of global warming by forcing users around the world to use highly lossy induction charging pads instead of cables" - The Onion News 2021
π
not the mention all the shipping and making of new cables
Lol
Wife killed one OnePlus fast charge cable after almost 4 years of abuse
Technically it still works, but the rubber on the phone's end separated from the cable
Glad our cats don't chew on cables
Hmm now... I detest power bricks. But that's one less thing to overheat or break and it's replaceable.
It makes sense, sort of
It's probably the most common point of failure for displays
And it's a 30β¬ power brick vs a display that may cost hundreds or thousands
One of mine, you can clip the power brick into the back of the display, that it's sort of one unit, but with an external cable

ugh fuck unixporn's discord
I just hate the way they fawn and gush over tiny keyboards.
Hell I showed off the wooting two in there once and they went full tilt dipshit and started treating it like it was the devil itself
O.o
Sounds like top notch beings
I dont understand why the cat dude made himself look like that

lmao Lana that banner
Shame so many shitpost subreddits get cracked down on, though
Oh wow that lenovo Q27q looks nice
I'm tempted to get a 1440p@75 monitor just to hold me over until there is a good 4k@120 HDR monitor.
specs don't say if it's VESA 100x100 or what. just "VESA mount"
You won't be waiting long any more
Several UHD IPS-type panels with 120/144Hz are going into mass production this year
I still ordered the new LG WQHD display, though
Swear to god my phones fingerprint has always been buggy and funky
Sometimes it's instant and sometimes it can take like 5-10s
small keyboards are mega bad
^ Dunno about that. full size qwerty is clearly designed for a large man's hand. Gives me RSI and reach strains and I'm 6ft2"
Mmm.... dat 50C while gaming life.
?
Got the loop up and running properly again.
Noice
I want a 4k@120 HDR that's at least as good as that new LG 1440p NanoIPS.
And under $700 would be nice. :/ That LG is already pretty expensive for 1440p@144.
I still can't get around high refresh rate being a meme
I just bought a 4K from Samsung. It's not the best 4K in the world but it only cost 350$ and it's a good enough for what I like one.
And I plan on getting their 3440x1440p ultrawide sometime soon.
I fucking hate looking for monitors or something and seeing people bitch at the fact they're not 300hz or some bullshit when the monitor looks beautiful and works great.
I don't think 144, 165, 240 etc is a big deal, but the difference of going from 60 to even just 75 is very noticeable.
Lots of games literally won't run over 100 or 120 or so, anyway.
Doesn't samsung just buy panels from LG
LG ultrawide is top dawg, 1 ms 144 hz
If price is an issue and you live in US I'd recommend viotek VA 5 ms 100 hz ultrawide at under 350. Couple buddies got them and are happier than me that spent over double that
difference between 120 and 144 is almost nothing. Smaller than the difference of 60 to 75.
It makes some difference, but I'll take other specs over it. I don't think any cables can currently do 4k@144 10bit.
I'd rather have 10bit color than the 20% higher refresh rate. Plus 120 is a lot easier to run.
I wouldn't trade away my 144hz for 60hz at this point. But I also miss having HDR1000 in games that support and use it well.
Like the newest Myst game.
The contrast is awesome.
A dark cave with fairy lights illuminating it. Real awesome effect
Mhmm. My HDR monitor wasn't for gaming anyhow. 60hz IPS. Wasn't super gaming grade
I've used 144hz monitors but it just felt meh
I've never had a "gaming" monitor. All mine are 60hz and mostly business ones. I'm thinking of getting that Viotek because I did see it. It's been it or the Samsung
I find it awesome for shooters. As for games without that need, I just appreciate the smoother image. The 240hz panel on the Razer I have in for review is super for desktop work. My eyes don't strain as much.
I've used 60, 100, and 144 side by side and until it's more lucrative to buy a higher refresh rate monitor price wise. I just don't see the point in making it a deal breaker.
It just didn't feel all that special to me. The 4K I got is 75hz (it'll be my main) and the 3440x1440 will be my secondary so maybe it's different if you use it more than a couple of hours
the difference between 120 or 144 and 60 or 75 is major for a fast paced fps.
But if you don't play those, it's whatever.
I agree that refresh rates beyond 144Hz is a meme, but up to 144Hz is pretty useful for gaming as a whole
It makes games more smooth
but it won't assist in general tasks to have a 144Hz monitor
I have an older 60Hz side monitor for that reason
@latent mural You'll be waiting a few years for that, at least until prices come down that much. That's why I settled for the LG in the meantime.
dunno that LG was more reasonalby priced than many other monitors
There's been lots of monitors that are $700 or even $2000 which are absolute trash
That's true. Well, LG, AU Optronics and Innolux are all releasing 4K 144Hz panels within the next quarters
But monitor makers will need another couple quarters to find the best way to work with them, probabyl
Also, 60 vs 75 vs 120 vs 144Hz is only half the story. Those numbers are meaningless without the necessary pixel transition speeds and overdrive settings that can cover the whole VRR range
But I still doubt the prices for those monitors with fancy HDR600 or better 1000/1400 backlights will come down as quickly
The LG is that cheap mostly because it's lacking HDR spec entirely
Even though it got better colours than most
Contrast is fairly poor
... wow
Lesson learned here is to just not voice your opinion on controversial things, people will find one sentence, bend it out of context then demand your head on a stake
It's ironic because Stallman was one of the biggest fighters for social progress and fairness.
@crimson wigeon That sounds like the internet alright.
lol there still a thing?
Oh yeah, the servers are pretty active π
VLC doesn't really care about file extensions in general, afaik
But about what data it reads
It still needs to understand a rar file though - But it's neat I guess. Lets you combine video and subtitle in a less permanent way
So, basically .mkv?
I went to cex
Asked them how much they would buy my phone for
6gb ram mi mix 2S
They said β¬145 -.-
Wtf
Sounds about right for CeX
Buying second hand phones is a no no
Ye
Ahh
The issue is
Getting the pixel from Google will be at least β¬100 more expensive
Import fees are robbery ;_;
why didnt u do 400+23%
or *1.23
no screenshot = copied answer
it's an intel
Can anyone point me toward where to go for getting cheap laser cut cardboard/MDF prototypes made? From SVG file or whatever.
it doesn't seem to be a big server xeon
Quintosh, that's a HEDT or Xeon chip.
Nope.
Cascade Lake-X still isn't out yet. They wouldn't have tech insider samples of Icelake-x already.
Likely something like a Xeon E5. Looks like it could be LGA 2011 to me.
Oh right, remembered the products in a wrong order
Or similar. 2000+ pins but not 4000.
Yes, writing 1s and 0s on a piece of paper is far less complex than NAND...
@proud nacelle Are you talking about RAID setups? or am I on the on the wrong subject?
No
you could for once tell use what you define as analog storage
because minimal ammounts of what you save is relevant enough to sacrifice usability, readspeed and such
and how much can you put on a vhs compared to digital storage that takes the same physical space
does you pc/laptop have something to read from vhs?
or does it have something you can just put an usb stick in and ahve access
and how likely do you really use something from a usb stick/external thats really not recoverable
yes partly
if it's extremely super important, put it on a usb stick and an external drive and put them in different bank safes, what are the chances for that to fail?
not any more than saving it on vhs
or whatever
again, what is so important that you need to save it that way?
save it on 5 usb stick and put them in different slots and in a metal bag or so that covers sun erruption radiation that could corrupt bits
at that point its still easier to use than vhs and surely not any more likely to fail
just real quick... I kinda want a Super Ultrawide monitor. Phillips released a really nice 5120x1440 one that's basically 2 27" 1440p monitors side by side.
But to keep on track with current conversation. There's Tape based storage that holds like 15-20tb per tape drive.
put it on two externals and or usb sticks and put it encrypted in the cloud and you have easy access and you're unlikely to lose anything
huh amd silently rolled out a better version of the top epyc they announced recently
60W TDP higher bc of higher base and boost clocks
was found via partners selling server racks with it
wonder why it wasn't announced with the others, or like, at all from amd
seems like missed potential to rub even more performance into intels face
@ashen spindle per AnandTech, it's a liquid-cooling-only SKU for specific non-burst workloads
https://www.anandtech.com/show/14882/amds-new-280w-64core-rome-cpu-the-epyc-7h12
they are pushing it only for liquid cooled HPC systems
@proud nacelle tape is still used heavily in datacenters
And replacing hdds for the density
And reliability
It's probably an exclusivity deal to system integrators and an expensive part.
hard for me to care about server stuff. I just want to see the new Threadripper benchmarks and price.
O.o

My gpu would literally melt if it tried to render all that
"Adaptive Sync", Why not say G-sync or Freesync?
because they split it so one side is a vm run by a 2080 and the other run by a vII just so it's a borderless multi-os setup
I dont think the aspect ratio is optimal on the 5120x1440
I already feel that my 3440x1440 is too wide to be optimal for certain applications
I see it as one mintor instead of multimonitor setup
so two run two things like they did in the video
or for racing games when people use a tripple moniotr setup
bc this way you remove the bezels between the monitors
I rather have two WQHD displays than one of these
Bezels aren't really an issue for me
A
And I prefer higher refresh rates over more pixels
Yes, multiple monitors is mostly better, even if it's a software issue it's a software issue that'll never be truly fixed.
what software issue
You can't play a game in full screen 16:9 on one part of the screen and have other windows open around it.
Window snapping doesn't work if you put one display above another, too
Fullscreen means, well, full screen
Not half screen
So that wouldn't be possible
You can at best put a 16:9 Window in the middle of the display
But that's ass for performance
that is a lot of media to lose
Whats that
doesn't really ammter
what matters is the insane amount of media
the numbers
Plex server.
I've made a terrible mistake i think
i moved my 4k over as a secondary monitor
i'm not used to a non-curved monitor over here so it feels like it's bowing out towards me.
oh my god this is just all wrong and weird
I put it into portrait and i just... it feels too tall.
moved it back to primary, put my curved 1080p back to secondary
[3:28 PM] Xeanoa: Fullscreen means, well, full screen
[3:28 PM] Xeanoa: Not half screen
[3:29 PM] Xeanoa: So that wouldn't be possible
Yes.... that's exactly what I was saying when I said there is a software limitation that'll never be resolved. Thanks.
Idk what's not clear. With 2 monitors, you can have a full screen game running in one monitor and the desktop on another. An ultrashort does not replace 2 monitors, as people say it does, as you lose that ability.
@zenith sonnet AMD is delaying its release of the 16 core Ryzen 9 3950X until November
comes to market when threadripper comes
Q.q
Threadripper 16 core probably won't cost much more anyway. Seems like anyone who was going to spend $750 should have waited for threadripper anyway
I'm rather surprised they are releasing a 16 core at AM4 at all. I was expecting 12 max, because yields.
Well, it's a huge premium over the 3900X, plus it's simply a halo product
I would've preferred TR, but if it is releasing months later, that's not a nice wait
Will be nice to see reviewers use the 3950X vs the 9900K in GPU reviews
Well nextgen TR starts at 24 cores apparently
Tracing Ray
Really? No high clocked 16C TR part?
24C is probably 4 lower binned chiplets with deactivated cores
32C will be 4 full chiplets
Doubt they'd make a 3 chiplet design
It's P4 all over again
Just with 8x more cores
HELL YEAH! Finally 10 GHz shall be reached
π
Iβd be sickened too
Yeah - Definitely a terrible thing going on. But kudos to someone being able to do something concrete..
I'd be sickened too if I had to use Ruby ecks dee
idk, nice pr move that hurt innocent uses and barely affected the case the didn't like π€·
They can't legally use it though, Mage.
It's a service - That interacts with a living platform. It will break, and it will break fast. Which is why they're moving away from it for those affected.
Yeah - It's called shifting libraries. This is a protest without longterm effects.
Anyhoo - Back to playing singleplayer EVE π

Skip to 27:41 for a typing demonstration. Explanation of the Hall effect: https://bit.ly/2kVoxLc Today we look at Steelseries' Hall effect offering, the Apex...
@crimson wigeon TR starting at 24 doesn't make sense as they can have double the cache on 16 core and it might make a good gaming chip.
Plus they only need 4c dies for it.
Also the 3rd pin is for lower ripple. It really can give another 1-2% better overclock.
especially if you have a PSU with 3 separate 6+2 cables (rather than daisy chained)
could just be that it wouldn't make sense for them to use chiplets in a 16core tr chips, we don't know margins/yields etc.
yes but it would take away chiplets they could use on other parts that might sell better/ bring a better cut etc.
we already had supply issues for certain models, now TSMC reported that you basically have a 6 month waiting list if you order something now, the supply is a bit limited
They might not even be selling 4c/8t chips.
So other than 32 core Epyc with 280MB of l3, no.
I would very much doubt they give up on the lower market, the only places they used to be above intel, in favor of a low volume chip barely anyone wants
They are releaseing 6c/6t for the 3500 instead.
with half the cache disabled
I think they want to classify 6c/6t as low end.
and if they do release 4c/8t, it'll surely also have half the cache disabled. So good 4c chips with good cache can still be Threadripper...
no the apus just lag a bit behind on the core design, we will see at least APUs with 4c chips
but for desktop/ryzen.
?
They never released a r3 2200 4c/4t, now di they?
2017 was ad ifferent landscape. Ryzen launch changed that.
the 3200G is 4c 4t, 3400g is 4c8t
They released 4c/8t r3 1400s to compete with 2c/4t i3s.
This is all about perception and marketing. It makes more sense for AMD to say their lowest end is 6c/6t and that that's considered "low end". It frames their competition more poorly.
Yes and the 3200G is essentially a laptop CPU
Oh but it is branded Ryzen, you're right
But still back to the earlier point, there was no Zen+ Zeppelin die that was 4c/8t on desktop.
3400G?
2600 was as low as they went with 6c/12t. Those 2200G and 2400G were a different die.
Different die
That's not Zepellin die.
That's raven ridge
Sorry, Picasso for 3200G/3400G
3400g is on zen+
The APUs don't use the same chiplet dies that the Ryzen non-G, Threadripper, And Epyc SKUs use.
There was not a 8c/8t chiplet cut down to 4c/8ton zen+ desktop.
And I would be surprised if there is for 7nm.
why not? would be a great option for lower range laptops
... because they have 4c/8t APUs for laptops.
are you sure they are not the same chiplets used in mainstream ryzen? bc I cant find anything about that
The R3 1200 and 1400 and such mostly existed because Raven Ridge wasn't ready yet
.... possitive. How are you not finding pictures of the dies and how different they are?
The APUs don't (yet) use a chiplet design and likely won't until DDR5 or for higher end ones or something.
why would that ccX part in the 2400g not be a zen ccx part that only had 4 cores working
it's a single chiplet, why can't it be a non perfect working part originally made for Ryzen 1000 series?
....... it's not a chiplet
or am I missing something here
surely it doesn't come out in that final form from a waver or does it?
"7:53 AM] BOTClyde: Woah there! The owner of Wooting has requested that Discord block any messages our mostly-accurate robo-hamsters deem to be explicit. Seems like you found one, so your message has not been sent. Please be nice."
Epyc too sexy I guess
chiplets
Raven Ridge is one homogenous chip.
is all of the stuff on an apu, so gpu ccx etc. made on one waver or is it put together?
........... Yes that's how it comes from the wafer. Those white lines are laid over top to show you what part is what they aren't physically cut lines
again... the APUs don't use chiplets. They can't afford the latency penalty.
You really need to start from square 1 in reading up on these things.
Check wikichips
not really I then just simply misunderstood how the apu is put together, I dont know when I ever said something that sounds like an apu would use multiple chiplets
I assumed the other stuff on the die could be put together afterwards and thats how they salvage parts that are below 6c's working
... no you're obviously not understanding it at all.
You keep saying "put together", not understanding that the only way you "put together" is with chiplets, which is a new thing that happened for the first time (outside of prototypes) with Threadripper and Epyc.
Anyway.
That 24 core starting rumor is from wccftech. When wccftech is the source, it's almost always wrong.
yeah wccftech is a bad newssite
Not putting out a 16 core 140MB L3 chip which is liable to be the best gaming CPU at still under $1000 would be a huge miss from AMD. And pretty unbelievable when it's low hanging fruit to make happen.
as cringey as the "gamecache" marketing is, it has been demonstrated that memory latency is typically the single largest limiter of game performance, much more so than CPU clock speed or IPC past a certain point.
Afaik, the 3500/3500X will have the full cache, but SMT disabled
Hey Oshirigami do you have any sexy examples of studies testing huge L3 cache in for gaming?
My computing hardware professor always said cache mattered most for performance too.
It's the only reason I bought an i7 instead of i5 heh
uh..guys??
wtf
this is the orange pixel 4....
but
it isnt out yet...
Oh So Orange
yup, sounds like the name google would use
Oh So Orange is the name that leak/news is claiming
this is cheaper than the Pixel 3 also π€
I want a Pixel 3A XL
Why
cause its a very good phone with that amazing camera and stock android for 4 years
but the 4 is out soon?
yup
but itll be like 1000 going on how overpriced Google make their phones
sincve its more advaced than the 3 and that is 900
@@wheat plume I have a Pixel 3, and while I'm impressed with it so far, I have noticed in <1 year its battery usable length has decreased by probably 50%.
O.o
I have a feeling that it's the updates that are destroying it
(but those are also so important, too important not to do)
hm ;-.
any phone that will have stock android for 3 years like the pixel?
on the day of launch too
Any just bloody use a custom rom
i dont want to risk installing one and everything not working right
I kinda need my phone to be working perfect
Pft :p
also I could wait for Pixel Experience to be based on 10
they havea build for me phone
Stock is overrated
is so pretty β€
can't install ios13 bc not enouhg room to save it, thanks "system" taking up 7gb

Also did anyone ever use a junction box for their wires? My granddad suggested rsrher than make a box to put my extension leads in I could just use a junction box
For devices I don't turn off aka speakers, fridge, and so on
And just have my pc on the normal plug
I don't know why it'd matter whether you turned the devices off or not but junction boxes are just a place to combine or split wire runs
But why would you do this
It makes no difference with power draw lol
Not to mention what a pain in the ass if you move things or end up wanting to unplug something lol wtf
Thatβs gonna be a no from me
if your fridge pulls a lot I wouldn't be combining it with stuff
probably a mini though
Lol i wouldnt do it with anything but light fixtures that are permanently in place
That's what we always used them for. Attic spaces with wire runs running to lights
Yeah this seems like a certifiable Bad Idea
@sick creek reason? Cos in sick of having 4 rows of plugs
Rows of 5 or more
Takes up so much space
thats not a woot
@pale sigil pics?

XD

ok you beat me

who was it that got a model O here? @zenith sonnet or @old marlin ?
or was it someone else? anyway, apparently they sometimes have issues just not working well then everything is fine a bit later?
I have one
Quintosh I had one but returned it because I didn't like the shape. It seemed mechanically flawless to me.
First batch, always worked fine
Mine was a later batch after the shell improvements.
Shape is very much FK
hm, friend had that issue just now, worked fine again after the mouse sat around for an hour
Well
It doesn't feel small, not for someone who likes space near their palm or a real claw grip
Contact support
Sounds like his mouse got wet and had to dry out xD
An update the day before miui 11 is released
π€
It also added digital wellbeing into the settings menu
I have it too and literally never ever used it
same
it seems pretty pointless without the new stuff in Android 10
like the family lock or the app lock
There is a new feature in KDE connect!!!!! I LITERALY just found it!
if you click photo, itll open the camera on your phone and once you take a photo itll send it right to your PC and open it for you
this is so cool!
As a shitty webcam lol
If you need to take a quick picure of something it can certainly be useful to call upon your phone from your desktop and then have the picture automatically be send.
Sure the alternative taking a picture or a few pictures and then sharing them via gallery isn't bad but this is better
Well
You could just set up your google cloud
And have it do exactly that
Without even connecting it to the pc
Or even being in the same network
With auto upload gl with avoiding that
nobody wants barked up porn you say? There might be one or two people in this server who would disagree
Uh, small question, I just finished reassembling my Pc, but I cut myself on my heatsink, whilst clipping the fan on.
Can I still use it? I mean there are like 3 drops of blood in it, and that might short something right?
yeah if its just on a heatsink and you take a towel to wipe it away there should be anything happening
I slightly overreacted, I mean, solutions are obvious, thanks for your help anyway :)
PC is blessed by your very own blood now. can't get any better

You and your PC are bound by blood.
Last I looked intel was beating them in price:performance
I think AMD has announced a new lineup or released one or something?
Never bothered to take a closer look tbh
The A series are their weak, low end chips. Ryzen for anything remotely serious.

HP 15-bs558sa,
not bad
The 130 and 320 series are quite decent. I had an i5 model.
Only downside is cheap plastic casing, bit that's to expect in this price range. And the fan spins up while on desktop - also common.
Of the 320* that is.
Quite decent. Like i3s really from what I remember. Haven't had s ton of them inour store.
i got really lucky with my laptop

Would love, but it's probably a little much for an X570 board
Well it is designed for a specific tasks
And isn't intended as a daily driver
Just for fps and rts games
Where you don't need the wheel
Uhhh...
You use the wheel in both genres.
Zoom, Weapon changes. Mousewheel rule supreme
Not to mention side buttons for grenades and melee. Et cetera.
Where it is recommended to not use the wheel to switch weapons
If you consider that mouse "competitive" I feel bad for you π
You're not supposed to be aiming while using side buttons.
Anyways, considering how much labour goes into each one the price is justified
One mouse takes ~ a day to make
With 2 guys
And carbon fiber isn't cheap
To each their own. I don't see the attraction at all π
As well as custom made pcbs soldered in germany
They know that this product is VERY specific
And they know their stuff
It is also subjectively fucking ugly. Sorry but it is π
It doesn't look very good
Sidenote
Roccat has an extremely good mouse coming out soon
They aren't able to scale that one
They plan on making other mice
With a wheel
And maybe even one for claw grip
If someone convinces them that it has a benefit
The guy in the ama said that they designed it to be only used for fingertip, so they wouldn't have to sacrifice usability for fingertip
I think you overestimate how short it is
This is how I hold any mouse - Except my palm is actually on the mousepad.
Aha... So I fingertip grip. TIL
Wait...
What the hell is the difference anyhow? Neither holds onto the mouse
Aside from literally fingers.
Claw touches the mouse with the base of your palm
There also are weird variations where just the sides touch it for example
Really? I have never heard of that. Huh... well you learn something every day π
I have partial claw/finger then, because my fingers are definitely in a claw pattern, but I never support the back of the mouse. My palm and back of hand are firmly on mousepad.

I used to claw - But my Harpoon is too short for it. If I move my hand forward, it basically becomes palm at that point.
I use every grip depending on the mouse
You must have small hands to be able to use the harpoon
I uh... I guess? π
It is so uncomfortable to me
It was cheap and readily available. Have two - One is wireless (which is my daily driver)
And in the end is just worse in every aspect to a g203
And the wireless is just a worse g305
Except for two things.
I got my Harpoons cheap.
And it isn't Logitech. Never going back to Logitech ever π
Like the harpoon is only a good choice if the shape isn't terrible
So only for a few people
It's cheap and thus popular. Beats a LOT of cheap clone mice.
The harpoon also has a terrible sensor that can spin out
Yea
But the g203 kills it imo
Never had issues with the sensor personally. I use a Razer mousepad with a pattern.
Cheaper, better cable, sensor, shape, weight and even rgb implementation
Wat
How does it have a pattern
G303 is best claw mouse out there!
Β¨
G303 is most unavailable out there
Oh
Ye
Prints usually just make pads a bit faster
Same on the qck
Honestly the only way I'll go back to Logitech, is if they ever relaunch the G9x
Goliathus is a decent pad
They stopped producing the G9x π
The g305 is just too good
It had the PERFECT shape.
Also I don't really need another launcher to sit in my taskbar. Got enough of those π
Compatible with the original shells
Corsair*
I don't like Razer either - But mostly because of Synapse...and terrible production value π
Every single Razer product I've reviewed has fallen apart within a year. And I don't rage game.
Telling ya, best claw mouse there is!
Anyhoo - I am quite content with my Harpoon. It isn't perfect, but it was dirt cheap at cost, and I already had the software.
Razer and Logitech are blacklisted for now, and Steelseries haven't made decent mice since the Icemat days as far as I'm concerned.
Pre-ordered the cooler master mm710, interested to see how that one is as a claw mouse
They will release a sensei with a classic shell soon
Roccat has 2 interesting mice coming
Or rather one family of mice and another one
There's rumoring that there's a new G303 right arround the corner though
The g203 is just such a good value
Wellyea there has been for a long time
Hype around it will die now that shroud has stopped using it
Thought he still used it, but heard that he is working in secret on a new one
Eitherways best claw mouse there is
Tried that one, did not like it. Not as good for clawing :/
All other mouse sales plummet
Hoping to see this one soon https://www.yankodesign.com/2019/09/23/this-logitech-mouse-gives-your-gaming-setup-an-edgy-modern-day-aesthetic/
Looked very interesting
Nooooo. Not more mice with gunk collectors π
Besides not looking similar to logitech design, having waaaaaaay too many parts and a weird af shape it also is unusable because it would be way too heavy
The other mouse in their lineup designed by an external studio was also weird af
That one just catched my eye as it's more diamond shaped than round
Looks like it will give a good grip arround the mouse
I should order me an Artisan Zero π€
Zaunkoening should have sacrificed 5g for the wheel
didnt even need to add wheel button, just encoder
-.-
I'm not fucking going to swap my mice for different games/productivity
at 28g it would have been perfect
Yeah they don't have the funding
I mean if you throw $$$ at wheels you can make them cF I guess
yeah man
Most of my fps games use wheel for jumping
cs, ow, quake
can't time jumps with a space... perhaps with Wooting's rapid trigger
wheel adds at most 5g without the microswitch
The super early birds are gone anyways they were 149β¬ a piece
now its 169β¬ meh, just save for wheel edition
I freaking knew it
That's interesting

Any here is from a Nordic country that use a US layout over Nordic?
Yessir
Wait... depends on what you mean. I use a US layout on my US boards, but with Nordic characters added into my layout.
Any reasons for going us over Nordic?
I prefer the way left shift and enter are designed. I do miss having a button next to Z though. Takes some rebinding to get everything working again.
I've just gotten used to it honestly. Lot of review samples I'm sent are US by default if not from a gamer brand. (So basically anything Kickstarter related, or from an enthusiast brand)
Oh yeah definitely - Keycaps are SO much easier to find. Only a precious few group buys do ISO UK addon kits, let alone Nordic
