SIMs don't really interfere anymore. The ISP specific FIRMWARE however definitely can.
You will sometimes see SIMs with tiny apps on them for checking balances and putting in more money on pre-paid cards. But those aren't really popular anymore.

cpu power draw is a lot lower than gpu in almost every scenario
